As many of you know, we first met at Shining Rock... where else would Mike be? Mike was always hanging out there at night and Sam had just started as a new waitress. He slyly got her number one night "hoping for quicker service when she worked the beverage cart." Too bad every time she showed up on the course, Mike flubbed his shot. They continued to talk and hang out with the group at Shining Rock, slowly getting to know each other better. One night he got up the nerve to ask her on a date and took her to the best place he knew, Chili's. To be fair, he wanted a different restaurant but it was a Monday night and most places were closed. After that they slowly spent more time together, but then Mike became hot and cold. He was never consistent with responding to texts (shocking) and he didn't like to make plans. As the summer drew to and end, Sam became fed up with this and started to back off, preparing to be done with Mike. At this exact moment, he began putting in 10x more effort to hang onto her. He claims it was part of his plan, she claims he was too nervous to settle down. But after that, the rest is history!
