They don't call it "Long Beach Island" for nothing! There is beach access almost every other block along the island and you are able to not only park for free near the beach access, but you can walk to the beach from absolutely anywhere on the island!
Old Barney, as the locals call it, was built in 1857. The lighthouse is not only an incredible sight, but the park offers many great outdoor activities. We recommend taking a walk along the jetty which extends 1 mile out from the lighthouse into the ocean and changes over from a smooth walking path to a rock hopping adventure. For those who are not feeling as adventurous, there is a beautiful .2 mile long self guided nature walk at the park as well.
LBI is home to 10 mini golf courses. We recommend a bit of friendly competition if you have free time while on the island!
Viking Village is home to a few local shops as well as the locally well known markets, Franks Produce and Off the Hook Seafood Market. If you're looking for the best Jersey sweet corn or some of the freshest seafood to bring back home with you, this is the place.
Calling all fishermen, and women! There are many great places to go fishing both in the bay and the ocean. You can fish from shore, or check out a fishing charter. Both Samantha's grandfather and Michael can answer all your questions when it comes to fishing on LBI!
Fantasy Island has been on LBI since 1984. Samantha grew up going to this amusement park and guarantees you won't beat her at skee-ball, but you can try if you have some free time while on the island!
Bay Village is home to about 20 local shops. Samantha & Michael happen to particularly love the LBI Oil store where you can not only purchase, but sample, some of the best local olive oil, vinegar, sea salt, hot sauce, honey, and maple syrup. LBI offers many unique flavors that are sure to not disappoint!
