Our Wedding

It was February 2018— Sam and Steve were juniors in high school, surrounded by friends, hanging out and laughing, when fate quietly nudged them toward one another.&nbsp;It wasn’t long before they both realized that this connection wasn’t ordinary. It was something deeper, something different. It felt like they had known each other for years, even though they had only just started talking.&nbsp;But despite the undeniable chemistry between them, they remained friends. That moment came on November 2nd, 2018. Steve finally asked Sam to be his girlfriend. Looking back, it’s clear that their meeting wasn’t by chance. It was something greater—two people who were always meant to find each other at the right time. It was the beginning of a journey that neither of them could have predicted but both knew, deep down, would lead to something lasting. And then came December 1st, 2024—a day that Sam would never forget. A day that started out like any other. Sam and Steve had planned a fall photoshoot in Northbrook, Illinois. They had talked about doing it for weeks—just a fun, autumnal outing to create memories. They walked through a preserved forest, surrounded by trees shedding their leaves. But what Sam didn’t know was that Steve had been planning something even bigger. Steve pointed across the forest and suggested, “We should go over there and take some pictures.” Sam turned around to look in the direction he was pointing, nodding, “Okay, sounds good.” But as she turned back around to face Steve, her heart nearly stopped. There he was, down on one knee, proposing to Sam. NUESTRA HISTORIA: Era febrero de 2018: Sam y Steve eran estudiantes de tercer año de secundaria, estaban rodeados de amigos, pasaban el rato y reían, cuando el destino los empujó silenciosamente el uno hacia el otro. No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que ambos se dieran cuenta de que esta conexión no era normal. Era algo más profundo, algo diferente. Parecía como si se conocieran desde hacía años, aunque apenas habían empezado a hablar. Pero a pesar de la innegable química entre ellos, siguieron siendo amigos. Ese momento llegó el 2 de noviembre de 2018. Steve finalmente le pidió a Sam que fuera su novia. Mirando hacia atrás, queda claro que su encuentro no fue casual. Era algo más grande: dos personas que siempre debían encontrarse en el momento adecuado. Fue el comienzo de un viaje que ninguno de los dos podría haber predicho pero ambos sabían, en el fondo, que conduciría a algo duradero. Y luego llegó el 1 de diciembre de 2024, un día que Sam nunca olvidaría. Un día que empezó como cualquier otro. Sam y Steve habían planeado una sesión de fotos de otoño en Northbrook, Illinois. Habían hablado de hacerlo durante semanas: simplemente una salida otoñal divertida para crear recuerdos. Caminaron por un bosque preservado, rodeado de árboles que mudaban sus hojas. Pero lo que Sam no sabía era que Steve había estado planeando algo aún más grande. Steve señaló hacia el bosque y sugirió: "Deberíamos ir allí y tomar algunas fotografías". Sam se giró para mirar en la dirección que señalaba y asintió con la cabeza: "Está bien, suena bien". Pero cuando se giró para mirar a Steve, su corazón casi se detuvo. Allí estaba él, arrodillado, proponiéndole matrimonio a Sam.
