What is the dress code?
The dress code for our wedding is Formal attire. Ladies should wear dresses or jumpsuits, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. Earth tones and neutral colors are strongly encouraged.
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
Both, the ceremony and reception will be held indoors. Keep in mind when traveling from one location to another that our wedding is in June, which typically means temperatures in the 70-80s.
Is there transportation to and from the ceremony, reception and hotel?
We recommend either driving yourself or taking an Uber/Lyft to and from each location. There is ample room for parking at both the ceremony site and reception hall if you choose to drive yourself. Parking at both locations is free. Please keep in mind the additional time needed to plan for parking or for waiting on a transportation service to get you. It is important to keep in mind that the College World Series will also be going on, which may lead to a delay in being picked up by a transportation service.
Is there a hotel block for guests?
We have reserved blocks for our guests at the Aloft West Omaha in Elkhorn, and Holiday Inn Express in Fremont. For more information, please see the 'Accommodations' tab.
How far away is the reception hall from the ceremony site?
The ceremony site, located at St. Jame's Catholic Church is located at 4710 N 90th St, Omaha, NE 68134.
The reception hall, A View Venue - West Shores is located at 110 S 243rd St, Waterloo, NE 68069.
It takes an estimated 20 minutes to drive directly from the ceremony site to the reception hall. Please plan accordingly.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time. The ceremony will begin at 2pm sharp. Those who are late to arrive may not be seated within the church and will be asked to remain outside of the church doors.
Am I allowed to take pictures?
We have opted for an 'unplugged' ceremony, meaning all cell phones will need to be silenced and put away during the entire ceremony. We have a wonderful pair of photographers and videographers who will capture the ceremony while also respecting the sanctity of the church. After the ceremony has ended and you have made it to the reception, feel free to take as many phones and videos as you would like. We encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #GettingKozy so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
Can I bring a guest/date?
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests listed on your wedding invitation. On your invitation you will notice at the bottom of your invitation, "[blank] out of [number of allotted guests]." You will not be permitted to go above the already stated number of guests on the invitation. As it took us many revisions to finalize our guest count, please do not contact us asking to allow for additional people.
Are kids welcome?
Unless it is specified on your formal invitation, we ask that you not bring your children.
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby. Guests are encouraged to explore Omaha until the reception starts at 5pm. The reception hall will be serving beverages starting at that time.
If I have a dietary restriction, what should I do?
When you RSVP, please be sure to indicate any and all dietary restrictions on the form so that we may plan accordingly.
