Brittany is my sister and we have been build-in best friends since I was born! Brittany and I are so close in age that people thought we were twins, but we could not be the more opposite. Some of our favorite things to do together consists of a mixture of traveling, obsessing over dogs, and making TikToks. Brittany is one of the most loyal people in my life and I could not imagine her not with me on my wedding day!
Drew Emberland - Best Man
Drew and I met at Hillside church in middle school and quickly became friends. We enjoyed going to trout lake camp together as kids, and have quite the stories from our time there. We have become very close throughout the last couple of years, enjoying golfing, timberwolves games, downhill skiing, getting a good deal on food, or having a long conversation over FaceTime. I am happy to call Drew one of my best friends!
Caitlin Zlabek - Maid of Honor
Caitlin and I met the day I was born. We have had countless sleepovers since preschool, been camp counselors together, and have gotten into our fair share of mischief. She has been my best friend that I trust with my whole heart and it is such a joy that I can have a friend who will also be my Maid of Honor! Caitlin has a heart that runs after God, and He has truly blessed me with my soul sister.
Michael - Groomsman
Michael and I also met in middle school when his family began attending Hillside. I have so many memories of hanging out at his house, whether we were having a sleepover, game night, or watching football after church. Michael and I have shared so many memories, whether it was leading worship for our youth group, throwing around the football on his street, the many youth group retreats we went on together or the summer trip to the UP. Michael is always someone I can count on, and have good conversations with.
McKenna Gordy - Bridesmaid
I met McKenna my freshman year at UNW through soccer. We both came into college praying for a Christ-centered friend who would always be our person. Thankfully God placed McKenna in my life so we could struggle through school and soccer together. McKenna is such an intentional friend and our conversations could last for decades. I had the honor to be her personal attendant at her wedding and I am thrilled for her to be a bridesmaid at mine!
I met Kiera my freshman year of college and we bonded over silence as we are both introverts. Somehow we both managed to come out of our shells and we became such close friends. Kiera and I can laugh for hours about the same joke and we can make almost any boring chore into a fun memory. Kiera is truly a spiritual leader in my life and I am honored that she said 'yes' to stand with me.
Ryan Liu - Groomsman
I met Ryan sophomore year of high school when my friend Michael brought him to youth group. They had gotten to know each other in one of their classes, and Michael invited him up to a trout lake camp youth retreat. Ever since then, me and Ryan have become very close, enjoying football, basketball, running the church livestream together, sending thousands of Instagram reels back and forth every day, and attending men's bible study together. I had the great honor of being a groomsman in his wedding, and I am so excited that he will be a groomsman in mine!
Cassie Flynn - Bridesmaid
I met Cassie my freshman year at UNW. We have become such close friends over the years spending summers together with crazy roommates and learning to rely on one another. I am so lucky to have Cassie as a part of my wedding party as she is also engaged! We have truly been able to bond over being engaged together and the Future Mrs. Ellies will be such a blessing to my life!
Isaac Nelson - Groomsman
As you can see from this picture, Isaac and I have known each other for a long time. I have fond memories of him coming to my birthday parties, Wednesday night church, going to trout lake camp together, hangouts at his house, and getting absolutely obliterated in ping pong by him every time. It's been more even recently though. Isaac and I recently have liked to go mountain biking along the Minnesota river, disc golfing, and we even went on a trip to the UP of Michigan two summers ago which was a ton of fun. Isaac is a great friend and I am so glad that God has put him in my life!
Hailey Duncan - Bridesmaid
Hailey was my first friend at UNW and I cannot image my college experience without her. We spent much of our freshman year together at volleyball games, Nest dinner dates, and doing homework in the stud. I was able to be a bridesmaid at Hailey's wedding last summer and I am so thankful she will be a bridesmaid for me!
Bret Duncan - Groomsman
Bret and I met at UNW, as Samantha and his now wife were "roommates". We would often see each other when we would come over to our girlfriend's dorm to hang out, and found that we shared a lot in common. As we kept hanging out, we became good friends. Today, Bret and I enjoy disc golf, as we often go to Acorn Park, where I never fail to lose a disc in the dreaded water hole. Bret has taught me a lot about disc golf and weightlifting, while I have shared my knowledge of cinnamon-topography. I am honored to have Bret as a groomsman!
Emily Grace Swanson - Bridesmaid
Em is going to be my future sister-in-law! Our conversations revolve around football, my soccer games, and her softball games. Our sports could not be more opposite, but being athletes also brings us together. She is such a kind and genuine person and I am so glad that we can both gain a sister! I am so honored that Em will be a part of my day and the rest of my life!
Ben Chua - Usher
Ben and I have known each other since we were little. I have so many fun memories with him at church, birthday parties, and in youth group. Ben is always a fun guy to be around, and I can't wait to celebrate with him on June first!
Mallory Moseman - Personal Attendant
Mal is a dear teammate of mine but we became close, inseparable friends while we were roommates on our team mission's trip to Spain! Getting to know Mal over long, hot days and seeing her heart continually radiate the joy of Christ was such a blessing to me. Mal never fails to give me a hug when we see each other and I have never seen someone so excited to see me as we pass in the hallways at school (Josh doesn't even get that excited). I am so glad to know someone as cheerful as Mal and that she can cheer for me on my wedding day!
Aaron "Toast" Trost - Usher
Aaron, or as many of our friends call him "Toast", met at UNW. We had the same media production major and shared many classes with him. We even worked on the sound design for my short film together and shared many laughs along the way. Toast and I can always share a laugh, and I am glad to have him as an usher in my wedding.
