Our Wedding

Brad &amp; Sam met back in 2014. Tinder was all the rage and they both swiped right. Little did you know this happened approximately 3 months before they'd even go on their first date. Brad was the ultimate charmer telling Sam that she could not admit there wasn't chemistry. Sam agreed to go for ice cream and that was it. After the first date, Sam immediately said "I think we're just better friends" to which Brad replied, "that's ok I have another date lined up " (which we now know was a lie) but it definitely got Sam's attention . During a trip to Texas and a few too many "pops" at the George Strait concert, Sam admitted to catching feelings and the rest is history. Sam and Brad would move in together in spring 2018 and purchase their first home in the fall of 2019. In 2019 they also welcomed home their first child Molson (a lab/Australian shepherd). December 18th, 2021, Brad with Molson's assistance popped the question Sam had waited 8 years to be asked (and no it wasn't if she wanted to go to the flames game). August 19th holds a special day for us as not only the day we will get married, but also the same day Brad asked Sam to be his girlfriend at Global Fest (an annual world firework show here in Calgary). We cannot wait to share it with all of you.

Reva and Sam met playing ringette. Reva was in her first year and Sam in her 3rd of U19. After they both got jobs while going to school at Booster Juice. They coached ringette for years with Reva's Aunt Robin and have travelled to numerous places including Cuba, Seattle and Mexico. Reva is the best person to vent too, whether it be over sushi or the middle of a work day. She will drop everything for her friends.

Brad & Mike would meet  when their parents decided 5 kids was not enough and had Brad. Mike is only 1 year older than Brad which mean't they did alot together as kids one of their favorites was playing on the same hockey team. Brad would go on to move in with Mike and his now wife Jessica after high school, and live with them while they became parents to their first Aiden. Mike is always willing to help when needed.

Tamara and Sam met while working at Booster Juice. They would practice their flip cup skills while working the closing shift. Tamara and Sam share a love for video games, Costco (for poutine) and during COVID Tamara and Sam would spend Saturdays in the backyard having bonfires. Tamara is the most easy going person who is always down for an adventure.

Brad and Shane met through Reva and Sam and instantly clicked. They have a passion for hunting and fishing and can spend hours talking about it. They favourite time was on a trip to Cuba where they chartered a boat just the two of them or when they went golfing for Shane's bachelor party whether they remember that or not is another question. Shane and Brad always have "to good" of a time whether it be double-dates with their partners, NYE or nights in playing Mario kart.

Abby and Sam met in grade 6 attending Cardinal Newman, but it wouldn't be till Sam started playing lacrosse their friendship took off.  Abby has been making Sam laugh since the day she put pop rocks up her nose. Abby has been Sam's decor guru for the wedding. She is always down for a good time and she is the hostest with the mostest always bring her and Tyler's friends together for holiday/special gatherings for a good time.

Brad and Matt met back in 2018 when they both started at Pro Star. They would go on to travel to Australia for 10 weeks together and numerous service trips up north. Brad would witness Matt become a Dad this past year. They act like teenagers when they are together but Brad will say the saddest day in their friendship is that Matt left their company to pursue other opportunities. But this only lasted 3 weeks as Brad went to pursue other opportunities as well at the same place Matt is at. All is right again ;)

Meg and Sam met when they were 7 & 6 playing ringette. Meg's Mom & Aunt were coaching and Sam had just moved from Winnipeg. Meg and Sam would play every second year of ringette together. They still bond over playing ringette together now, and their late night ice time drives together as a chance to catch up. They love true crime podcasts and although Meg is a new wife a Mom to a 1 year old and pursuing her career she always makes time to check in and have a laugh or two.

Uber is a platform that connects riders and drivers to coordinate rides, similar to a taxi cab company. The Uber app has a functionality to allow you prebook an Uber for a specific date and time if you’d like to utilize that function.

There is a bunch of places to stay within Calgary. The following are 3 hotels within close distance to our wedding venue. The Courtyard is roughly a $25-30 uber ride to our venue. Deerfoot casino is roughly $30-40 uber ride so the closest options to the venue for hotels. *rough estimate is subject to change and high volume during summer may affect the charges*

There is a ton of affordable options for Air BnBs within Calgary. Sometimes they are nicer and way better price then staying in a hotel. For reference the ceremony and reception is in Dewinton (on a map). When looking for an Air BnB best to look in the SE of Calgary. If you click on the link below for the website it is prefiltered to the weekend of the wedding and roughly the area. But feel free to contact Brad or Sam if you aren’t sure if the location makes sense in regards to our venue

Probably the closest hotel to our venue. This hotel is in the Deep South of Calgary. Across the street is a Save On, Shoppers, Boston Pizza, Tims etc. It is also within walking distance to Sam's brothers bar called the Tommyfield Gastro Pub (which you have to try their Cesar that comes with a mini chicken sandwich) on the skewer (its basically a meal).

Travel/Transportation

Banff National park is breath taking if you have not been before. Beware summer is one of the highest peak times for travelers to Banff. Should you wish to go we recommend going a bit early to ensure getting a park spot. You also are required to buy a day pass to park and enjoy Banff for the day.

Stephen Ave is a great place to walk downtown. Lots of places to eat lunch or dinner, including the Bank and Baron (as pictured). This is a pedestrian only street so you'll have to park and walk.

The Calgary Zoo is well known for all the different exhibits it has. It is accessible via the Calgary C-Train. Exhibits include:- Canadian Wilds-Conservatory Gardens &amp; Butterflies- Destination Africa-Exploration Asia-Gateway to Asia-Land of Lemurs-Penguin Plunge- Prehistoric Park

The Inglewood Night Market is a modern market&nbsp;with locally sourced and handmade vendors selling diverse goods; from handmade crafts to vintage clothing, antiques &amp; collectibles, artisan eats &amp; more!&nbsp;THE SPRING &amp; SUMMER MARKETS ARE OUTDOORS. The market is usually only on Friday nights. Double check the website above to ensure it is occurring on the Friday you wish to attend.
