Our Wedding

This is the story of two lifelong friends who ended up together in a worldwide pandemic. Not many good things happened for most people during the pandemic, but my mom once said, "not that the pandemic happened for your love to come to light but it jumpstarted what was always meant to be". That statement couldn't be more true! Greg and I have known each other since we were about 8 years old. Our parents were good friends and because of that we got to see each other occasionally and everytime it was always the most fun I've ever had, true core memories. I would always get so excited when we would see the Coverts and being around them always felt like home before I even knew what the future would hold for Greg and I. Fast forward to March 2024, Greg and I were on our annual Florida trip to Marco Island and on this trip, we added a mini vacation to Key West. We got on a boat that took us from Marco Island to Key West and little did I know, Greg was going to propose on the boat ride there. Little did we both know; we would get seasick the entire time! So, Greg had to think of an alternative plan. Our last night on the island we finished up a 5-star steak dinner and we were walking around the docks surrounded by beautiful boats and yachts. We ended up on a private dock where we had a spectacular view of a super yacht. I was caught up in the beauty of where we were and all the things around us, so I had absolutely no clue what was about to happen. As I turned to go back, Greg was getting down on one knee and the magic words “will you marry me” left his lips. I was in such shock the only words I could get out were “Oh my god! Oh my god!”. Once the initial shock reaction brought me back to reality I said, “Of course I will marry you!”. I will never forget that moment, it was the most perfect proposal I could have ever imagine for myself! To top it off as we walked off the dock a sailor on her boat asked us what all the commotion was about, and I told her we had literally just gotten engaged. She then invited us on to her sailboat and offered to take our picture on the front of the boat. We ended the night walking around in pure bliss! We sent pictures to our families telling them the official news and received a ton of congratulations and heartfelt messages.&nbsp; I am so grateful that I get to spend the rest of my life with an amazing man. Greg is a dream come true. I am so blessed and excited to become a Covert.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Canopy By Hilton Ithaca Downtown

Ithaca airport is the closest to our wedding venue and hotels. It is a small airport so it can be pricier so I’ve given another option. ￼

Ithaca Tompkins International Airport

Elmira is another small semi-local airport, it is about 45 minutes away from downtown Ithaca and hotels.

Elmira Corning Regional Airport

Syracuse airport is about 1 hour and 20 minutes away, but it might be cheaper for out-of-towners to fly in here rather than Ithaca. So, just be mindful that you will have to take a Taxi or Uber ride for over an hour if you fly here.

State Parks with Waterfalls 

If you have the time please see a waterfall, you will not regret it! All the state parks I listed are all within 10 minutes of each other.
