Sam and James met in 2010 while working at St Vincent de Paul Thrift store in West Bend WI. As they worked together they became fast friends. Then in the summer of 2012, James and Sam embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. Their relationship began with enjoying long movie nights and episodes of House Hunters, walks on the Ice Age Trail, and spending time with each other. Over the years they have encountered many challenges, being apart in college, and moving across the state multiple times. They persevered and are stronger than ever as a result of the experiences they have lived together. From the college towns of Madison and Steven's Point to the beautiful Northwoods of Minocqua, James and Sam have lived the Wisconsin life through and through. They have enjoyed many trips together, camping at parks all over Wisconsin, standing in the shadow of an eclipse in Kentucky, and road tripping around Michigan's Upper Peninsula. These adventures lead them to a truly memorable trip out West, seeing the beautiful Rocky Mountains, and multiple national parks in Arizona and Utah. (And of course, the seemingly endless drive through the fields of Nebraska and Kansas). This trip culminated in a picture perfect scene at sunrise at the Grand Canyon, where with a little help from Hannah, Sam's sister, James proposed to Sam as daylight broke over the canyon walls, painting the moment in warm, beautiful colors. As they kissed in dawn's early light, so began the rest of their lives together to live happily ever after.
