Mary D. Hume

This shipwreck is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Gold Beach. The Mary D. Hume was a wooden steamship that sunk in 1985. Today, the ship's remains are still visible on the beach. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the site and learn about the ship's history.

Cedar Bend Golf Course provides a beautiful setting to be enjoyed by golfers of all levels of ability and our membership and staff are eager to make your visit an extraordinary experience.

This 9-hole mentally engaging course features 3,000 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36. Designed by John Zoller, the course opened in 1971. The short layout will reward good shots and provide a fun golf outing for everyone. Golfers must consider the combination of elevated tees and greens, along with the creek and little mounds adjacent to several greens.

Cedar Bend Golf Club is frequently visited by Black Tailed Deer, Roosevelt Elk, Red Tailed Hawks, Band Tailed Pigeons and other species of wildlife.

Located just a few miles north of Gold Beach, the 121-acre state park features short hiking trails along crumbling sandstone bluffs. Just below is a stretch of sandy beach that extends all the way down to the north jetty on the Rogue River, accessible from a small pullout just down the road from the main park entrance.

Just 17 miles north of Gold Beach lies an untouched prehistoric garden complete with 23 life size dinosaurs set among a lush 300 year old Oregon rainforest. The self-guided tour allows you to casually stroll along the path and discover what the Earth was like millions of years ago.
