How we met
We swiped right or left. We don’t remember how tinder works, but we actually found each other on tinder. So… We swiped YES and the rest is history. We met at Old Chicago in downtown Duluth to watch a wild game during their play offs in 2016. We instantly connected in conversation and made each other laugh. This older woman sitting near us pointed out that every time Matt would get up to use the bathroom the Wild would score. I caught on and started to ask him if he needed to use the bathroom while Matt was thinking I was going to leave the minute he got up to use the bathroom. He comes back and says you’re still here, I thought this was some trick and you were going to leave. I went on to tell him no… every time you use the bathroom the wild score. Plus it gave me a minute to text my sister and tell her my blind date is perfect and he’s not going to kidnap me. This had us laughing all night and ever since then we just hit it off even though I dropped my phone in the toilet and didn’t get a hold of him for a week after we met. It all worked out and we took things slow because we knew we wanted to make things work. Eventually we moved in together and our dog Moose became his best friend. I hadn’t thought much about kids in my future, but the love we have for one another made us want to start a family. We knew we were meant to be. It did only take him one whole month to kiss me, but a year and a half later he proposed. We have been engaged for seven years now. We put off planning a wedding, but we’re very busy. I finished nursing school and Matt supported us financially through it. We have been through tough times and are a strong team because of it. I became pregnant with Easton in 2018. Starting a family has made us fall even more in love. Watching Matt be the father to our children and vice versa is more than we could have ever dreamed of. I was gone in Texas for 6 months for military training and we got through that while Matt cared for Easton at home. Fast Forward to 2022 Roman came into our lives after my 6 months away. Our family is complete and our whole world even though everyone kids about me being gone and then we have another once I’m home. We finally looked at venues and fell in love with the Enchanted Barn. We looked at each other and said this is it, we have to book it and finally get married. We even brought the boys there with us and they were just as excited. We cannot wait to share this special day with all of you.
