Our love story began officially in September of 2018, though we had met a few years prior through softball. I worked at the Sportsplex as a server, and Dub was a frequent flyer to say the least (if you know him, then you know he basically lived at the Sportsplex at that point LOL). I noticed him first, and asked a friend if she knew who he was. "I think his name is Doug," she told me. I soon learned that his name was indeed not Doug, it was Alex, but he went by Dub. I made it a point to get to know him more, and he soon became one of my regular customers. In an attempt to flirt, I would often linger around a little longer to chat, be extra attentive as a server, and even give him free food just because. Of course, being the oblivious man that he is, he had no clue that my actions were not-so-subtle hints that I was interested. This went on for probably about a year, and I was starting to lose hope that he reciprocated any of the same feelings. My last ditch effort came in September of 2018 at a Softball tournament in Vegas. I went out to watch some friends play (that just happened to be on the same team), and I knew if sparks didn't fly in Vegas, I would let it go and move on. It took a little bit of liquid courage to finally make it clear that I was in fact interested, but luckily for me, once I did, he confessed he felt the same, he just had no idea that I felt that way (like I said.. oblivious!). And the rest is history.

From then on and for the past 5 years, we have been inseparable. We integrated seamlessly into every aspect of each others lives, becoming each others best friend and biggest supporter. We have done soo much together over the course of our relationship, tackling each of life's milestones together, big and small. From birthdays and holidays, to traveling, to helping each other through the loss of loved ones, being parents to our fur baby Maisy, and even buying our first home together. When Dub proposed to me in March of 2023 in our most favorite place, Hawaii, it was the easiest "Yes" I've ever answered. We couldn't imagine life without each other, and we are so incredibly excited to embark on this next chapter: Married life!
