When Alex and Samantha matched on Hinge, sparks flew faster than the axes they threw on their adventurous first date at Lumber Axe Bar in Alex's hometown, Waukesha. While Sam's axe throwing skills were sub-par, her mention of Packer season tickets had Alex (jokingly) proposing right there on the first date!

Though they laughed it off, their connection was undeniable, leading to more dates filled with laughter, adventures from the shores of Waikiki to the Daytona 500, many rounds of golf, and ultimately becoming the best of friends.

Fast forward to April 2024, Sam was to attend a work conference at the El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico. With the boss's approval, Alex was able to join on this next adventure. Once the conference wrapped up, Sam and Alex were able to enjoy the resort together and get in a round of golf, naturally. Little did Sam know, Alex had big plans in store. As they approached the 18th green, Sam remained in the golf cart (this Yooper didn't do well in the heat ha!), Alex was thinking 'What can I do to get her to come onto the green?' Lightbulb. 'Hey Sam, come check out this lizard!' Fun fact: Puerto Rico is full of lizards. Sam, phone in hand, runs to the green to see this lizard supposedly sitting in the cup to snap a picture. As she was circling the cup to find the lizard, Alex dropped to one knee and the rest is history.

Now, surrounded by friends and family, Alex and Samantha are ready to embark on their greatest adventure yet—marriage, where their love story continues to defy all expectations set by a dating app and a rogue hatchet.

Maybe some things last FORE-ever after all....xoxo
