Sam’s POV: We met the new fashioned way, on Tinder. What’s really cool about it though is we were not in each other’s radius. So we honestly should have never been able to swipe right on each other, but thank god we did. I slid into Taylor’s DMs immediately. I had my target on her and she will tell you that too hahaha
Taylor’s POV: As Sam said, we met on Tinder, but I truly believe at some point our lives would have crossed and we’d have met in some other destined way. I was only on for 12 hours before Sam and I had started messaging.
Sam charmed me, she was funny, determined, and was not letting me go. The moment we met face to face was instead of butterflies, (okay, maybe some) I felt at peace, calm, like I knew her. The rest is history :)
Sam’s POV: When I proposed I asked my entire family to help surprise Taylor, and we actually pulled it off (thank god)! We had rented a house on Lotus Lake in Michigan and I knew I wanted to propose right on the water. By the time the pontoon was loaded up with both families secured, the sun had started to set perfectly. I then prepared my self to ask the love of my life to marry me. Before I asked her of course I had to ask if she was ready to be stuck with me for life, she replied “Of course I am weirdo”. I immediately pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me. I then put the ring on her right hand, instead of the left, and we both laughed and haven’t stopped laughing.
Taylor’s POV: The day that Sam proposed, we woke up early to go kayaking. The sun that whole day was the prettiest it was the whole week.
We went on the water and after, we went to breakfast. Once home I went up stairs to take a nap, and Sam asked “Are you sure you want to be stuck with me the rest of your life?” Which I replied, “Of course I am weirdo".
After dinner, we got back to the house and her family had a sunset pontoon trip planned. I didn’t think much of it, until seeing how everyone was in a rush, and how nervous Sam was. (She had no reason to be, she knows I can’t wait to spend my life with her). Even then I didn’t think it had anything to do with getting engaged!! Once on the boat Sam couldn’t wait and proposed right away, but at the perfect time :)
Taylor’s POV: I proposed to Sam on her birthday. I enlisted help from her sister, Tori, to put together a slide show and the song Golden Hour. After fondue and cake, we went to our porch and put the slideshow on the projector. Sam thought we were watching a movie, and immediately she started crying and said yes. It was a beautiful surprise and I was super nervous, so Im glad the movie asked for me.
Sam’s POV: Taylor proposed on my 26th birthday and it was the best gift I have ever received. I was actually being super impatient waiting for Taylor to propose hahaha wondering okay when is it my turn!!?? But she surprised me in the best way. That year I had wanted homemade fondue and an outdoor movie night. With the help of our sisters, Taylor had created the most thoughtful, tear jerking, beautiful proposal video that I never expected to see on the screen. When it got to the slide that asked me to finally be her wife, of course I said yes!! I love her to pieces, and that birthday will go down in history as the best birthday I have ever had.
