Eirik and Sam met in August 2020 at the beginning of the fall semester at Trine University. They had mutual friends, so they would spend many weekends hanging out and attending events on campus. After an extra long Thanksgiving/Christmas break (thanks to Covid), they began to hang out just the two of them doing homework, watching basketball, and going to the movies. They instantly clicked and officially started dating on February 2, 2021. This is one of their first pictures together. They went ice skating with other friends at the ice rink on campus.

They helped each other move out of their dorms. This was the beginning of long-distance for the summer.

Sam visited Eirik's hometown for the first time. They competed in a golf outing with Eirik's family.

They went to Cedar Point. The park was SO BUSY they only rode 4 rides the entire day.

Eirik visits Ludington on the 4th of July.

Sam road trips with Eirik's family to Minnesota for a family wedding.

They dress up for a decades party. They're back on campus for the 2021-2022 school year.

They dress up as inmates for their first Halloween (their favorite holiday).

They celebrate Sam's 21st birthday. Eirik is about 1.5 years older than Sam, so he was excited they could finally go to the Venue (the popular bar in Angola) together.

Eirik drove to Kentucky to watch Sam win in the NCAA tournament which sent them to the Final Four.

They went to Hawaii for a family wedding (absolutely breathtaking views the entire trip).

They spend Memorial Day weekend exploring Mishawaka, IN. Sam was living there for the summer for her engineering internship. They were doing long distance for the summer again, but this year it was only about half the distance because of Sam's internship.

They celebrate another 4th of July on the pontoon in Ludington.

They spent the homecoming football game showing off their conference championship rings.

They dress up for Halloween, this year as a cowboy and cowgirl.

They tear up the dance floor at a wedding for one of Eirik's friends.

Eirik supports Sam on her senior night despite being on crutches because of her knee surgery.

They graduate from college together! Sam got her bachelor's of science in biomedical engineering and Eirik got his bachelor's of science in biology.

Eirik proposed on a post-graduation trip to Gatlinburg, TN! <3
