It all started when Sami made the move from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, ready for a fresh chapter and new beginnings. Just a few months later, fate stepped in—and Sami met Alex.

Their first date was at MilkBoy on South Street, where laughter flowed as easily as the drinks. From the start, it felt easy, like they’d known each other far longer than a single evening.

Just three months in, they booked their first international trip together to Portugal. Because what says “this might work out” like committing to international travel with someone you’ve known for 90 days? Luckily, no one got lost, sunburned beyond recognition, or passport-confiscated. In fact, they thrived.

Together, they hiked mountain trails, biked through scenic paths, binge-watched true crime documentaries, and explored countless breweries. Their shared love for discovery—of both the world and each other—became a beautiful rhythm in their lives.

In April of 2023, Sami moved in with Alex in Manayunk, making a cozy home filled with laughter, warmth, and the occasional cat mischief, thanks to their two black cats, Stella and Ronin.

Then, in March of 2025, on a quiet, meaningful walk through Wissahickon Park, Alex got down on one knee and asked Sami to marry him. Of course, the answer was yes.

Now, as they stand on the edge of their next big adventure—marriage—they do so hand in hand, with hearts full of gratitude for every step that brought them here.
