Sami and Mitch first met in January 2020 with technology ultimately being our wingman. While the world was gearing up for a global slowdown, our story was just beginning to be told.

Our first date was at Innovo Kitchen where we would find out if this connection we had made over text would translate in person. Within minutes, those concerns instantly washed away. Hours felt like minutes and the first date jitters evaporated as the conversation felt effortless. We sat at the bar-top eating our Churro French Toasts, gushing over our love of food: her love of baking and my love of consuming. We left the restaurant nearly three hours later with smiles as big as our French toast filled stomachs.

Like most stories you read, the path the main characters take isn’t always predictable and linear in a sprint towards happily ever after. After our first date, we continued to grow our connection with several movie marathons and takeout dates. This love story is a classic tale of right person, wrong time and off to Portland, Oregon Sami went. Three time zones away and personal growth journeys in full swing, we continued to talk and update each other on our lives. After a year of self-reflection and growth, we both came to the conclusion that we are much better together than apart. Sami packed up once again and moved back to New York where we would continue our love story and officially start dating.

The next year and a half flew by as quickly as our first date had. We began to share countless adventures together while still enjoying life’s mundane tasks knowing we had each other by our side. Life became beautifully simple and complete. We continued our personal growth journeys with the support of each other's constant reassurance and love.

Our love story came full circle on August 29th, 2023, when we returned to Innovo Kitchen where we first met. While we were out to dinner, our apartment was being set up for a romantic night to remember. Surrounded by rose petals, candles and the watchful eyes of our boy Toast, Mitch got down on one knee and made Sami the happiest woman in the world.

January 18th, 2022 was the date we had decided to begin our relationship, so we only saw it fitting to have you all join us three years later as we begin this new chapter as Husband and Wife!
