Our Wedding

Sophia: I met Sam our sophomore year of college at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. The first time I remember seeing Sam was on the soccer field during a pick-up game. However, I took the game too seriously to strike up a conversation with him. Luckily, we had both switched our majors to graphic design that semester which put us in the same classes. After our first class, I walked up to him and introduced myself and explained that I knew his sister from playing with her on the women's soccer team. The conversation did not go much further until later that week when we both arrived early to a graphic design class, and then the conversations never stopped. We went to lunch together for the first time after that class and played ping pong and foosball when we had finished. His sweet spirit and genuineness were the first qualities that stood out to me, and I felt an uplift in my spirit from simply being around him. Little did I know that this first meeting was just a glimpse of the life and love that I would have the privilege to experience through Sam.~Conocí a Sam nuestro segundo año de universidad en la Universidad Bob Jones en Greenville, Carolina del Sur. La primera vez que recuerdo ver a Sam fue en el campo durante un juego de fútbol. Sin embargo, tomé el juego demasiado en serio para entablar una conversación con él. Afortunadamente, ambos habíamos cambiado nuestras carreras al diseño gráfico ese semestre que nos puso en las mismas clases. Después de nuestra primera clase, me acerqué a él y me presenté y le expliqué que conocía a su hermana por jugar con ella en el equipo de fútbol femenino. La conversación no fue mucho más allá hasta más tarde esa semana, cuando ambos llegamos temprano a una clase de diseño gráfico, y luego las conversaciones nunca se detuvieron. Fuimos a almorzar juntos por primera vez después de esa clase y jugamos ping pong y futbolín cuando habíamos terminado. Su dulce espíritu y sinceridad fueron las primeras cualidades que se destacaron para mí, y sentí un levantamiento en mi espíritu de simplemente estar alrededor de él.
