Sam and Madison’s story began at the Brazoria County Fair in 2017, during Sam’s junior and Madison’s sophomore year of high school. After a couple of months of getting to know each other, they made it official on December 27th, 2017.

They enjoyed the next few years of high school together with pep rallies, football games, prom, and homecoming dances. Sam was a huge supporter at Madison’s volleyball, soccer, and waterpolo games. Sam graduated first in 2019 and started his college journey at Brazosport College. Madison finished out her senior year, graduating in 2020, and then also spent a year to finish her basics at Brazosport College. At this point, Sam went off to Sam Houston State University to study Construction Management and the long distance love story began. When Madison finished her year at Brazosport College, she went off to Texas State to study Exercise and Sports Science. The two spent many weekends during this time apart driving three hours to prioritize time together. They made memories floating the river, hiking, visiting the duck pond, soaking up the sun at Sewell park, and, of course, enjoying many late nights with friends at The Square or the Jolly Fox.

Sam graduated from Sam Houston State on August 5th, 2023 and started working as a Assistant Superintendent. Madison graduated from Texas State on December 8th, 2023 and began teaching PE at Lanier Elementary.

Fast forward to July 6th, and Samuel made a small detour after their lunch date to help “move some equipment” at Camp Orion before the hurricane. When arriving at the duck lease, Sam asked Madison if she wanted to feed the catfish, which was a given. As they were walking towards the pier, Sam stoped, got down on one knee, and popped the question in one of their favorite places. Of course she said yes!

They are excited to celebrate with you on June 27th, 2025 as they start a new chapter filled with endless fishing, hunting, and love as Mr. and Mrs. James!
