We met at my buddy, Jack's apartment, and we were watching an NBA finals game. I heard Ivy talking pretty in-depth about the game and her love for Jimmy Butler-- I instantly knew she was the one. In all seriousness, after just a few encounters I knew she was different than anyone else I had ever met.

I met Sam on a random Friday night early June in 2023 after playing Singo with some friends. It was pretty late and I was about to leave when he came in. I remember thinking he was cute and funny. It wasn’t until the end of the summer that we actually got to know each other!

My favorite memory was proposing to Ivy right outside the Grand Tetons. It was everything I could've ever imagined and more.

I also enjoy the memory of one of our first dates at the fair. We had so much fun and I just remember Ivy making fun of me for being scared of the rides.

My favorite memory with Sam was going to the animal shelter!

The Saturday after Sam graduated from Union, I had the urge to go check out our local animal shelter. I was actually interested in getting a cat and with my birthday being in 2 weeks- Sam was beginning to think about what to get me, so we made the VERY wise choice to go and see. We didn’t spend 5 minutes in the cat section before I heard that there were puppies! Obviously, Sam & I went to look and we saw two little puppies left. One Australian shepherd and one golden retriever mix! We knew that sweet golden girl would be perfect for us. About an hour later, we were taking her home. She is full of energy, runs in circles, and loves car rides.

I love Ivy's determination and selflessness that she portrays in her relationship with me and with others. She truly is a giver. She is always in your corner, and will always support you through anything. She is funny, loves every sport, and extremely competitive. Ivy is also extremely strong and determined, and she inspires me every day.

Sam is genuinely kind and truly servant-hearted. He thinks of others in high regard and is quick to point out the best in any situation or person. Sam has never met a stranger. He is hard working and constantly asking “how can I make your day better and life easier” and actually follows through. Sam is a man of his word and a man that loves the Lord more than he loves me, which is why I am so confident that he will be an incredible husband!
