We never knew that one single question could have such a profound impact: "What's up with the hat?" One hot day in August, Sam saw Lauren from across the pool and couldn't believe his eyes. 7 years prior, Lauren's father Alan bought her a hat adorned with a trout from a fly shop in West Yellowstone. He told her "If any guy knows what this hat means, he's worth your time." Turns out there aren't many fly fisherman in Nashville (or true cowboys for that matter). So when Sam finally made his move on Lauren, she took the bait. Hook, line, and sinker - it was love at first sight. From summer nights filled with live music to spontaneous Southern adventures, every moment together cemented our bond. What started at the pool in Music City became the foundation of a love that sings a beautiful melody. Fast forward to today, we are loving every second of planning our dream wedding. We can’t wait to celebrate with our closest family and friends at The Degen Homestead. This year marks a special milestone as we become the fifth generation to marry at Lauren’s family home. We feel incredibly grateful to continue this cherished tradition at a place that holds so many memories and has been part of so many milestones over the years. On top of planning our wedding, we’re also thrilled to be purchasing our first home and preparing for our move back to the Boise area in August. It’s a season of big changes and new beginnings, and we couldn’t be more excited to start this next chapter together! We never knew that a serendipitous interaction of once in a lifetime could lead to forever together. God bless the hat.

ALL THINGS TRAVEL

The Boise Airport (BOI) is the nearest airport to our wedding venue, which is approximately 50 minutes away. Since Emmett has limited accommodations, we've arranged hotel blocks in Boise and Eagle for your convenience.

Located approximately 40 minutes from Dude DeWalt Cellars and 50 minutes from the venue. Please note that the cutoff date for booking in our block is 8/11.

Hotel 43

Located approximately 20 minutes from Dude DeWalt Cellars and 30 minutes from the venue. Please note that the cutoff date for booking in our block is&nbsp;8/12.

Residence Inn Eagle

TRANSPORTATION

A shuttle will be provided from Hotel 43 and the Residence Inn to the Degen Homestead and back to both hotels at the end of the evening. Uber and Lyft are extremely limited in Emmett, so we highly encourage that guests plan on using the provided transportation. The buses will arrive at each hotel at 3pm, with departure at 3:15pm. The buses will pick up at the venue at 11:15pm at the end of the evening.

REHEARSAL DINNER & WELCOME PARTY

Since Nashville is where it all began, we’re bringing a touch of Music City to the welcome party. Cowboy Cocktail attire is encouraged.

Formal attire is requested. Please note that the ceremony and reception will be held on grass, so we recommend choosing shoes accordingly.
