Our journey began when we were just 16 and 17 years old. Adriana was a little nervous and unsure, secretly chatting with Sam without telling her big, scary Greek dad. The fear of how he’d react was very real! But everything changed one day when he walked into the room while Adriana was on FaceTime with Sam — and to her shock, he asked to speak to him. That FaceTime call felt like it lasted the whole day. After chatting, Con decided it was time to meet Sam in person. So, the car was packed and off we went to St Gregory’s College to watch Sam play rugby union — it would be the first time Adriana met Sam face-to-face too! As if that wasn’t nerve-wracking enough, Sam’s parents, Sonya and David, were also visiting that weekend to watch the game. It was definitely a little unconventional — both families meeting for the first time on the same day — but somehow, it just felt right.

From that moment on, we seamlessly became a part of each other’s lives. What started as a nervous meeting quickly blossomed into a love that felt incredibly natural and comfortable.

Over the next few years, we faced the challenge of being apart. Sam was chasing his rugby dreams and doing his electrical apprenticeship, and even though the distance was tough, it only made our love stronger. A few years later, Sam made the big move to Sydney so we could finally be in the same place and continue building our life together.

Fast forward to 2024: One afternoon, Sam surprised Adriana with the news that he had won a night at the Crown Casino in Sydney, along with dinner at a restaurant through a supplier he bought from. Adriana, being the forgetful person she is, had agreed months earlier to take annual leave on May 17, thinking they were heading to Griffith to choose kitchen colours for the duplexes. Little did she know, that would be the day Sam asked her to marry him.

Our engagement was truly the most special day of our lives, which we will forever hold close to our hearts. We've faced challenges, but through it all, our love has only grown stronger, and we are so grateful to be on this journey together.
