Sam and Becky went to high school together starting in 2014, and although they were good friends for all four of those years it wasn’t until much later that they really hit it off. After Graduation in 2018 they both went their own ways, Sam starting college at Peru State and Becky moving to North Carolina. They kept in touch over the years until eventually in 2022 when Becky moved back home and they started a sand volleyball team together. Over the next two summers Sam moved to Bellevue University where he graduated in 2023, all while Becky helped grow her family’s business.

|By the beginning of 2023 Sam and Becky were inseparable, even having met each other’s respective family’s, even though Sam hadn’t made it official yet. That wouldn’t happen until February 12th right after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl... You know, with superstitions and all.

Summer of 2023 was spent getting out and living life together. In June, Sam graduated from Bellevue University. That weekend was a test for them both as it held many bumps in the road, including, flat tires, all night emergency vet visits, and an ER trip, all while trying to celebrate Sam’s accomplishments. Although the rest of the summer could only go up from there. Sam took Becky to Missouri for the 4th of July to meet his extended family. They got to experience a water lantern festival at the Gene Leahy Mall in Omaha, spent a lot of time playing golf and sand volleyball, and got to watch volleyball at Memorial Stadium to end the summer.

In Late July the couple decided to move into together. It was now Sam and Becky, along with their two dogs, Dudley and Lenny and their cat Ollie. They make a big bunch living in a small apartment, but they wouldn’t have it any other way.

With fall comes sports, and lots of them. Sam and Becky were actively coaching, playing and watching sports which kept them very busy. Sam coached boys tennis while Becky coached Volleyball, both at Nebraska City High school. They both played sand volleyball, while Sam also played flag football. That on top of working full time, they had very little time to go out and do stuff, so their quality time consisted of watching the Huskers, Chiefs, and eventually the Supernovas.

On March 31st, Sam asked Becky to take a walk with him through Arbor Lodge, a place they had spent a lot of time together, before going to his family’s for Easter lunch. It was there he popped the question, and of course she said yes!

They have plenty to keep them busy in the coming months, such as trips, new jobs and now wedding planning!
