We are so excited to celebrate our day with you!
Sandi and Missy met in 2007 when they were both assigned to roles in Arlington Public Schools—Sandi as an occupational therapist and Missy as a psychologist. During downtime between appointments, a casual conversation about Sandi’s planned window treatments uncovered their shared love for all things home improvement and décor. Since then, dumpster diving, curbside treasure hunts, and chalk paint projects have all played a part in their friendship!
Over time, they began referring to themselves as “Twins Separated at Birth” due to an uncanny number of similarities—from dietary restrictions to finishing each other’s sentences and anticipating each other’s quirks. Their bond is strengthened by a shared love of belly laughs, a good cocktail or glass of wine, their Catholic faith, and, most of all, each other. They've each been sources of joy in one another's lives for nearly two decades.
Being part of the celebration of Sandi and Jim’s love and upcoming marriage is a true gift.
Hi, my name is Emily Lewis—also known as Emily Ohio. Yes, I live in Ohio on the family farm! I first met Sandi in September 2000, and we instantly hit it off. Since then, we’ve become “chosen sisters.”
For several years, I had the honor of flying with Honor Flight Columbus. Many times, Sandi—along with either Will or Jim—would meet our group in Arlington or at the World War II Memorial. Their support meant so much.
One of my favorite memories with Sandi is a trip we took to Chicago. We hit the Windy City at full speed and packed in as much as time would allow. We saw Wicked, the Blue Man Group, indulged our way down the Magnificent Mile, and of course, we shopped!
Sandi and I share a deep faith and a strong commitment to Christ. She is one of my most trusted prayer warriors, and I truly treasure our friendship.
I couldn’t be more thrilled that Sandi and Jim found each other and are now spending their lives together as partners.
Sandi and I met shortly after she moved into her home on 10th Street in Arlington. Standing outside, she introduced herself to my family and me with what I now recognize as her trademark “Sandi smile”—incredibly warm, genuine, and unforgettable. From that very first moment, I knew she was someone special and that we were destined to be close.
Not long after, I met Jim and heard the story of the “magical kiss” when I asked how they met. From that moment—and many others—it was clear to me that Jim was undeniably the one.
Over the years, Sandi and I have shared countless conversations, offered heartfelt advice, truly listened to one another, and laughed until we cried—so many times. Sandi is truly one of a kind, and I love her dearly.
Sandi and Jim have both witnessed and demonstrated the power of God’s love. Their faith has been a source of inspiration to me, and I am beyond thrilled to stand beside them as they celebrate the sacrament of marriage. I couldn’t be more excited for their big day and the beautiful future that awaits them.
My name is Audrey—also known as the daughter of the groom… and soon-to-be daughter of the bride! Sandi has been such a blessing to our family, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have witnessed the love between her and my dad grow and flourish over the years.
I’m so grateful to be part of their journey into marriage—it's about time, if you ask me! Sandi’s love and care for each of us truly makes us better people, inside and out.
Here’s to the happy couple—cheers to a lifetime of love and joy! I can’t wait to celebrate and dance the night away with all of you!
Jim is not only my brother-in-law but also one of my best friends. I first met him in the fall of 1980 at his home in Tempe, AZ, when I asked his father for his sister Janet’s hand in marriage.
While I was there, Jim, his brother Tom, and I spent some time target shooting in the Arizona desert. Using a pistol and shotgun, we took turns firing at an empty beer case. Tom and I went first, and we both did pretty well. But when Jim took his turn, from 50 yards away with the pistol, things got interesting. Tom called out, “Ten yards high, ten yards left,” as Jim adjusted his aim. Then Tom called, “Ten yards right, ten yards short.” Frustrated, Jim grabbed the shotgun, launched the beer case into the air—and missed it from only ten feet away! Guess it’s a good thing Jim chose to make his military career in aviation!
I married way over my head, and I’m thrilled to see these two lovebirds tie the knot. Jim, I think is marrying over his head, as well!
As the eldest of Jim’s children, Lucas has had the privilege of knowing his father for 33 years. Despite cleverly avoiding the family’s military service tradition, Lucas somehow found himself following in his father’s footsteps with a career in government procurement. Why? We’re still not entirely sure.
Some of Lucas’s favorite memories with his dad include watching Jim fly his helicopter off an incoming frigate when he was a child, sharing shots of tequila in Mexico before heading off to college as an adult, and, of course, the many camping trips, sports games, and grueling homework sessions along the way.
I can't wait to make even more memories with Jim and Sandi in the years to come.
As the son and middle child of the groom, I’ve had the privilege of knowing my dad my entire life, and I’ve been fortunate to know Sandi for over 10 years. From the moment I met her, I could tell she was a keeper. Seeing how happy she makes my dad brings me so much joy.
While there are many cherished memories with Jim and Sandi, the one that stands out most is definitely the blow dart incident from Thanksgiving 2015…
This couple has a way of brightening the lives of everyone around them—whether they’re celebrating holidays, milestones, or simply spending quality time together on an ordinary day.
I couldn’t be happier or more excited for them.
Hi, I’m Will, the only child of the bride.
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Jim for over 12 years, and in that time, he has become an incredible role model for me. I’m honored to stand by his side as he starts this next chapter. I couldn’t be happier for the two of them—and I can’t wait to celebrate the wedding with everyone.
