Ao Sen is our go-to Phở spot. Even though you are here for the summer, it is never too hot for phở.

Order a #1, or #4 for soup, or #24 for a rice plate
In 2023 we tried to create a tier list for the bet Mexican spots from Fairfield all the way to Richmond. El Trompudo was the top winner for the whole area. Their meat is always so good. This was our favorite food to eat while wedding planning.
Ethan orders an asada burrito, and Sang orders asada tacos. Make sure you ask for extra salsa verde 👌
You're going to see a lot of Korean food on this list, but this one is the closest to the venue, and the best in the area. Don't be misled by the small location-- this is definitely a hidden gem.
We usually share a dumpling tofu soup and a beef dolsot bibimbap
The crepe cake here. Just wow. We visited the San Francisco location for Sang's birthday a few years ago and loved the place. Everything is good, but get a slice of crepe cake.
Order crepe cake.
This is Ethan's favorite place to eat out in all of Fairfield. The Hawaiian food here is so good, the portions are great, and the staff is amazing. It's also right by the local game store, Mad Alpaca Games, AND a boba spot, Boba Luv. Definitely visit both.
We usually both get mini katsu plates and a spam musubi. Pair those with Hawaiian Sun drinks (or get boba next door)
This isn't the closest KBBQ place to us, but it's the closest to the family, and that's what matters, right? We also go to Ohgane down the street. Both are good, and we get our fill at both.
Regardless of which place we go, we make sure to order a side of rice paper.
Tasty Pot is all the fun of hotpot, but in small, individual, premade portions. This let's everyone order different soup flavors, and nobody has to worry about cooking.
Sang orders the Tom Yum, and Ethan orders the Kimchi
We aren't about to explain Jollibee. If you know, you know, and we know you know.
Regardless of our combinations, we make sure to get Filipino spaghetti.
Daeho in San Francisco is where you go when you're craving epic Korean comfort food. Their famous kalbijjim, a mouthwatering braised short rib dish, is the star of the show—rich, tender, and totally worth the hype!
They also just opened one of these in Concord, but we haven't visited yet...
We like to get ours with rice cakes added on, and with purple rice on the side.
Marufuku is an amazing ramen place with super rich and creamy broth. Our favorite feature at this location is their option to order extra noodles (even if we are too full to ask for it)
We both order Hakata Tonkotsu DX bowls, but we adjust the spice levels
Na Ya is a super cute hole-in-the-wall cafe in San Francisco. It's so hard not to order everything on the menu here.
Our usual is the mango sticky rice and the steamed bread, but we love the bingsu
Let's be real. If you know us, you know we go to Kura to get the toys that come with every 15 plates. We love their collaborations with our favorite animes, and their ordering system reminds us of the fun we had in Japan.. But aside from toys and gimmicks, they do actually have good food.
We order lots of things here, but Sang always gets a Dragon Roll, and Ethan always gets a Spicy Tuna Handroll.
Tokyo Anime Center is an official gashapon location from Bandai Toys. It isn't a restaurant, but if you're in the area, might as well stop by. They have so many different capsule machines to choose from. It's an amazing place, and we love to take out our inner gambling addiction here.
Haidilao is a hotpot place that is known for its exceptional customer service, but also for its great food. We love the atmosphere and experience here. It's the epitome of quality food and quality service.
If you do visit, tell them that "Little Fairy has come for hot pot"
You may have heard that Blue Whale Poke is a great poke place located in Hillsdale Mall, but did you know that it's also the first job that Sang and I ever worked together at the same time? They also recently started to serve very good Korean and Japanese food.
Ethan usually gets a Poke Bowl or the Tiger Roll, and Sang gets the Beef Short Rib Bowl or the Dragon Roll
Nothing screams 'road trip to San Jose' like a good bánh mì. We love to get sandwiches here after roaming around Grand Century Mall. It's also important to buy extra sandwiches for dinner later when you get home after driving all day.
We both get the full #2 combo sandwich to make sure we get all da meats. Pro tip: if you are planning to eat it later, you can ask for the veggies on the side.
Tong Sui is a newer chain that specializes in coconut pudding and drinks. They have been rapidly expanding across the Bay Area because of their wild popularity.
We usually get a lot of different pudding flavors to share with people (and because the jars are nice). We make sure to always get mango, durian, and black sesame
