Believe it or not Portland is a foodie city, so much so that the city has a food pod culture. You will find all kinds of cuisines and amazing fusion food that you never would have imagined!!
Portland has a thriving craft brewery scene and Willamette Valley is known for it's wine. You can't go wrong with anything you choose.
Escape into the nature: Hoyt Arboretum , International Rose Test Garden and Portland Japanese Garden (Japanese garden has an entrance fee)
Instagram worthy shots: For panoramic views of the Portland city, head to Pittock Mansion. On a clear day, you might also see Mt. Hood in the shot.
Walk around Tom McCall Waterfront park and Pearl District. On Saturdays, there are two markets - The PSU Farmers Market (on Portland State University Campus just south of Downtown) and the The Portland Saturday Market (crafts and arts based).
Head east to Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area to see waterfalls and the gorge. Multnomah Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are accessible by car but head their early in the day or late in the afternoon to get ample parking.
For my hiking enthusiasts, check out this waterfall loop trail. Be prepared for some significant elevation gain.
Go to Vista House at Crown Point to catch a beautiful sunset shot of the Columbia Gorge.
Snack Food Recommendations: Go to Lardo for amazing sandwiches, Blue Star Donuts for donuts (they are better than Voodoo Donuts) and for coffee recommendations check out this guide. For East Coasters, checkout Salt and Straw for ice cream if you haven't already!
