It all started as most modern romances do: on a dating app. David was the first to reach out, telling Sara that he thought her freckles were cute. Sara responded with "Sara invites you to start the conversation." The rest was history.

They met for their first date at the art museum in Balboa Park, where Sara impressed David with her knowledge of European art. For several months after, the couple took turns making the hour and a half commute to see each other every weekend. One night, they met up for a drive-in movie showing of La La Land. Afterwards they were listening to music in David's car when he asked her to be his girlfriend. Had they been in Sara's car, they might have noticed the parking ticket on her windshield.

Soon it became time for David to meet Sara's niece and nephew. Everyone was very nervous-- this was to be the ultimate test. Luckily they took him right in and before long he had fondly become their "Davey."

As a couple, they enjoy going to movies, exploring new breakfast spots, and collecting vinyls. They were dating for two and a half years when they got engaged at the site of their first date in Balboa Park.
