Our Story,

Mitchell and I both grew up in South Lyon, MI for most of our childhood. We first met in 6th grade at Centennial Middle School. We had a couple classes together and eventually became part of the same friend group. We both dated other people throughout high school, but there was always something that kept us coming back to each other. After high school, we both went to Washtenaw Community College for a couple semesters. We both eventually transferred to other colleges, Mitchell went to Central Michigan University while I went to Eastern Michigan University. We kept in touch here and there. Every now and then, we would reach out to each other, which oddly enough was always after one of us had gotten out of a relationship. Fastforward to 2021, we were both done with college and started our careers. One day, Mitchell reached out to me saying he needed my "nursing expertise" as he had injured his hand at work- this was a common occurrence for Mitchell, LOL. I of course went to help, and I left his apartment, wondering if now was the right time to give us a shot. We went on a couple dates and hung out, but that was it. A couple months later, Mitchell ended up moving in with his sister Jenna and brother in-law Jeff and their 2 kids. The day came where Mitchell had asked me to come over. He warned me that his niece Libby was the deciding factor. If Libby didn't like me then everything would be a no go. I warned Mitchell that once Libby and I met, he would have to date me because Libby and I would become inseparable. Mitchell laughed and said "yeah, we'll see!" When I walked in the house, there was Libby, hiding on the couch just peeking over the edge to see who I was. She was shy and didn't say much. Not going to lie, I got a little nervous! After I left later that night I got a text. It was from Mitchell saying that Libby was wondering if and when I was coming back. After that text, I knew! Libby approved! I would come over every couple of days and the first person to greet me was always Libby yelling, "SSSAAARRRAAA!" as she would run and jump into my arms.

I think Mitchell was a little jealous, LOL. From there on out it was always, Mitchell, me and Libby. A couple months later, Mitchell and I moved into our first apartment together and along came Ollie, our first dog/baby. Next thing you know, Libby started asking, "when are you getting married!?!?!". Mitchell and I would just laugh it off, but both definitely thought about it. Next, both our families started asking, "when are you getting married!?!?!" I was on my way home from work one night and Mitchell and I were going to go to dinner. I texted him that I was here and to come downstairs so we could leave. He responded with, "come up for a second, I need your help with something." Me being oblivious, I was like, "you need my help? with what?". As I am walking up the stairs and unlock the door, I walk in and its pitch black. I am a little nervous, scared and confused. I walk in slowly saying, "uhhh Mitchell???". After a couple steps I can see the apartment filled with tiny tea light candle lit up all around the apartment. Mitchell is standing in the middle of the apartment holding Ollie and all I can say is, "No, no, what are you doing, no." Mitchell reaches his hand out and says come here. After that, everything went blank, I don't remember a single thing he said. The only thing I remember is him saying, "You are my best friend, will you be my best friend for the rest of our lives?" Shaking I said, "Yes! Of course!" Both of us were crying and shaking and Ollie was barking up a storm. I was in complete shock! Little did I know he had set up a dinner with my mom, sister, cousin, his sister, brother in-law, Libby (of course), his friends and mine. As I walked back out of the bedroom, Mitchell stopped me and said, "Did you see what I had playing on the TV?" I looked over and it was the episode of Friends where Monica and Chandler got engaged. I totally missed that! We are huge Friends people! I couldn't believe all the little details that Mitchell had thought of. Still in shock, just staring at my ring, we headed to dinner and were surrounded by the best people to celebrate this moment that I never thought would come!

Fastforward to 2024 and we are getting married!
