Sara and Katie met the modern way - on an online dating site! Today's dating climate can be intimidating and somewhat difficult to meet the right person. Sara had spent the last few years discovering who she was and healing from the loss of her husband. She had close friends and family that were happy in relationships and she was starting to feel like she was ready to open up to the possibility of meeting a partner. One night, she created an online dating profile in hopes she would meet someone nice.

As she scrolled the sea of faces, she came across a smiley faced person named, Katie. She could tell that Katie was fun and was also very pretty. She decided to swipe right, and they were a MATCH!

Katie has a robust social life, full of friendships, concerts, and adventures! She decided that she was ready to dip her toe into the dating pool to find, in the words of Alanis Morissette, "someone else to catch this drift". An amazing woman to share those special moments with. Katie also wanted to try out dating online at the same time Sara did. The stars aligned and the rest is history!

After a few months of dating, it was clear that Sara and Katie shared many things in common, especially their values. Family, quality time, and service are important pillars in their lives. When they decided it was time for Katie to meet Sara's boys, it was because they wanted to continue building on these values. Sara and Katie's families have been a huge support system to them which allowed them to continue to build connection as a couple and eventually as a family.

One of the dates Sara planned for her and Katie, was a candlelight performance of Taylor Swift songs by a string quartet. Unbeknownst to Sara, Katie arranged a special announcement at the concert. Before the musical performance, Katie proposed to Sara under the stars in front of a couple hundred people. The crowd cheered with delight and Sara was completely surprised! It was a magical evening!
