Whether or not you believe in fate or soulmates, our story (I know I said the thing!) was definitely one of divine intervention. I met the ruby to my sapphire entirely by accident, much like the characters themselves. To set the scene, it was mid-January February 2023 and I (S) was in the South Dakota State University theatre fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega, which puts on an SNL-esque sketch comedy show every year. Since I was a member, I got to participate as a director for the first time. I was excited for my directorial debut. Around the time I received the shows I would be directing, I was in Frisco for the football championship. This resulted in me being moved from my original skit to another, which just so happened to star Karac as one of its central characters. During rehearsals, we exchanged contact information in an attempt to put together a cast group chat which never materialized. About a week after the last performance, he asked me out to coffee, and thus began our relationship! He asked me out to Cottonwood Coffee and after talking and laughing for hours, I had to leave which prompted him to ask me out. Originally I said no since I was talking to someone but wanted to be friends. Ten minutes later in the Burger King drive-thru, whilst ordering, I called him back and told him I changed my mind. We both eagerly planned our next date and unfortunately our calls got cut off. Thankfully we both were able to connect once more and planned our date for a few days later on a Monday. We then became official on Valentine's Day and since I was Dolly-approved, three months later, he asked me to marry him on my 21st birthday at Charlie's Pizza, and the rest is history!
