Sara and Landon met in 2018 at T-bone Days while they were in high school. They met through mutual friends and Sara thought Landon was a girl until he turned around and had a beard. After a few years and many late-night phone calls, they finally had their first date on July 13, 2020. They went hiking and camping in the Loess Hills and explored the Old Market in Omaha. Landon thought they started dating later that night when he kissed her for the first time.


A week later, on the 21st, Sara and Landons mom found out that Sara was Landons girlfriend, which came as a shock to both women. Sara and Landon had dinner and a movie in Carroll. They ate at Napollis and saw Back to the Future. During the school dance scene, Landon stood up, took Saras hand and they slow danced in the empty theater.

Landon and Sara moved to Waukee in December of 2021, when Sara started working for the Waukee CSD. After a few months of living together, Landon proposed to Sara on Valentine’s Day of 2022 at 11:59 pm. Sara was convinced he was going to propose that day and it never happened. In Landon fashion, he dropped to one knee in front of our apartment at quite literally the last minute.

On Christmas of 2022, Landon re-proposed with the ring.
