If you were to ask Sara and Connor how they met, you would get two completely different stories. Sara would tell you they met at the fair when they were twelve years old in August of 2002, while Connor would tell you they met at a high school football game that same year. Although they have never agreed on where their journey started, they have always agreed they never wanted that journey to end. Throughout their childhood years, Sara and Connor spent countless hours together, whether it was going to the movies, traveling to watch one of Connor’s various sporting events, or spending time together at one of their families houses, they were inseparable.
That was until making the decision to attend colleges in different states. During their four-year long-distance relationship, Sara and Connor took advantage of every opportunity to see each other, even meeting halfway in between Maryland and Pittsburgh on numerous occasions just to be able to spend time together.
In the end, the 250 miles that separated them throughout their college years could not keep them apart. As fate would have it, Sara accepted a job that allowed her to move to Pittsburgh immediately after graduating college. Sara and Connor were ecstatic to finally be living in the same state after so many years apart, and the rest is history!
After nearly fifteen years of planning, on August 12, 2017, Connor was finally ready to pop the question! Connor planned a "Date Night" and took Sara to RPM Italian, a restaurant in DC she had been wanting to try for years. Sara was suspicious, but when they left DC and there was still no ring, Sara assumed she was wrong. After the drive home, as Connor pulled into Rio, where their apartment was located at the time, he asked Sara if she wanted to go for a walk around the lake. Considering this was the exact location where they had their first kiss, and there was a monsoon outside, Sara began crying immediately as they pulled into the parking spot. After getting herself together and gathering the umbrella's, Connor led Sara around the lake and got down on one knee in the same spot they stood many years ago.
As soon as Sara said yes, the rain seemed to stop so the newly engaged couple continued their walk around the rest of the lake, only to be greeted by all of their family members ready to celebrate with the happy couple!
