Our journey began thanks to a serendipitous invite from a friend of a friend to the Reel Rock Tour 2014 in Boulder, Colorado. After the event at Chautauqua Auditorium, our group headed to Kitchen Upstairs in downtown Boulder. It was there that we really met. Anthony, a confident young engineer who had grown up in Colorado and had a passion for rock climbing and mountaineering, and Sara, an attractive, outgoing, and adventurous Physician Assistant who had recently moved to Colorado.

In a moment of frugality, Sara suggested we split a meal, and to her surprise, Anthony, who usually doesn't like to share, agreed without hesitation. From that night on, our connection only grew stronger. Being new to Colorado, Sara was still building a network of friends and invited Anthony to join her Thursday night rock climbing group at the local climbing gym. This quickly led to mountain biking, backpacking, and skiing.

One of the things Sara first fell in love with was how Anthony felt that women should be just as empowered as men, which he demonstrated by buying her a toolbox and tools their first Christmas, so she’d never be reliant on others for basic repairs.

One of the things Anthony first fell in love with about Sara was how outgoing, intelligent, and fearless she was. She’s one to go all in, whether it’s conversations with new acquaintances or joining a mountain bike racing team mere months after riding one for the first time.

As time progressed, we became essential fixtures in each other's lives. Over the past ten years (yes, 10 years), we have grown and matured as a couple, always making it through the hard parts together. We’ve learned to be a great team capable of achieving great goals. Being goal-oriented, sometimes to a fault, we've also had to learn that it isn't just about achieving goals; it's about having fun and creating safe spaces for each other to be vulnerable before, during, and after.

Our elopement marks a milestone in our journey, symbolizing our commitment to growing together as individuals and partners. We can't wait to continue this adventure and celebrate this milestone with our loved ones!
