It was Josh's second day in Houston, Texas, and Sara was out at Heights Biergarten with her roommate when Josh decided to ask Sara if she wanted a drink and they hit it off immediately. A few months later, they moved in together! Christmas came and they surprised each other with dogs (without knowing) and were kicked out of their house for that reason. They ended up moving in with Sara's parents (the foot on the wall incident that will never be forgotten by Sara's dad) and had so much fun! Eventually, work was taking Josh back out to San Diego so Sara decided to go with! Fun fact, the day Sara got offered by the San Diego Padres, Josh was meeting The Rock so he did not answer any of her 15 calls. They spent some time in San Diego but COVID happened, and Sara had to start looking for another job in sports elsewhere. She applied with the Tennessee Titans and got the job so for over a year, they were long distance and then Josh decided to follow Sara down to Tennessee where they live now. And here's the story everyone wanted to hear.....Josh decided to surprise Irma (Sara's mom) with a trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights for her 70th birthday....little did Sara know that all along, Josh was hiding that ring in his backpack the entire trip! His original plan was to propose during the Northern Lights but they were not showing as well as he liked....so the last day before the trip....Sara was getting upset because no proposal , the trip was almost over and she just KNEW it would happen this trip. She was dreading having to go snorkeling in 15 degree weather while wearing a wetsuit. But she decided to just have a good time....also her dad kept saying "It's going to be a great day" and she didn't think anything of it...also did not think anything of her dad "taking pics" of us before we went in the water (he has an iPhone 3).... And seconds before we got in the water to snorkel between two continents, Josh got down on one knee and popped the question. They both blacked out but both knew they were exactly where they should be and the rest was history!
