Our Story

The Start of Forever

Her Side...

Justin and I met at the very beginning of our Sophomore year at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). We were both in a pre-law organization (even though only one of us went to law school) and shared many mutual friends.

At the end of our Sophomore year, Justin asked me to be his girlfriend at our favorite spot in Ann Arbor: Charley's. We spent the rest of our time in college building memories together.

After graduation, Justin moved to New York and I moved to D.C. One year later, after realizing we couldn't stand being that far apart, Justin packed his bags and moved to D.C. And thank God he did--Justin has been my biggest cheerleader, support system, and best friend, and I couldn't imagine a world where we lived apart.

On October 1st, 2022, Justin asked me to marry him, and I officially became the luckiest girl in the world.

Justin, I am so excited to see what the future has in store for us, and I absolutely can't wait to be your wife. I love you!

His Side...

The first time Sara and I met was great foreshadowing for the rest of our relationship. It was the 3rd floor of Mason Hall in an old classroom with 50 other people during our Sophomore year, and the first words Sara ever said to me were “Will you marry me?”. It only took me 6 more years from that point to ask her the same question myself, but who’s counting!

Sara and I became closer and closer friends over the course of that year. With a little help from Sara’s sister, Carla, we “officially” began dating in a booth at Charley’s at the end of our Sophomore year. I’m forever grateful that we took the next step, because my life has been changing for the better ever since 😊

Sara and I spent the next 2 years at Michigan together, eventually graduating in 2019 and moving to different cities. However, fate wouldn’t keep us apart for long, and in February 2020 I moved to Washington, D.C. to an apartment 0.6 miles (0.96 kilometers for our international friends) from Sara’s apartment. 4 different apartments, 6 semesters of law school, 7 different jobs and internships, and 1 pandemic later, Sara said “Yes” when I asked her to marry me on October 1st, 2022, on a very gloomy, rainy day in Alexandria, VA. I wouldn’t have known it though, because I was the happiest I had ever been in that moment.

Sara – I promise to continue to be your #1 advocate, best friend, and partner. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us, and I know that whatever comes, we’ll tackle it together. See you at the altar, I love you!
