Our story began at Upper Iowa University, where we were both athletes—Stevie on the baseball team and Sara on the softball team. Stevie, a year ahead of Sara in school, first noticed her from afar and immediately knew there was something special about her. He even told one of his close friends, "I’m going to marry that girl one day."

Over the months, we’ve explored each other’s cities and created unforgettable memories with each other’s family and friends. From sharing laughs and stories to simply being there for one another, it quickly became clear that we were building something real and lasting.

We’ve learned that the best part of life is simply being together. Whether we’re cheering on the Packers, watching Stevie catch at the baseball field, or pulling pranks on each other, it’s these moments that make our hearts the happiest. Sara has a talent for sneaking around the house, hiding in the most unexpected spots, and jumping out to scare Stevie—he never sees it coming! When we’re not up to mischief, you’ll find us unwinding with The Bachelor, cooking competitions, or game shows. And, of course, we love spending summer days by the pool with Rawly, just relaxing and enjoying each others company.

One of our favorite traditions is grabbing ice cream and heading to our special bench by the lake—the same spot where Stevie proposed to Sara. Now it holds even more significance as a place where our journey together truly began.

It was the perfect setting for a perfect moment. Stevie proposed to Sara on a bench by Fowler Lake, a spot that had become special to them both—a place they often went to sit, talk, and take in the view. But this time, it was different. Stevie had set up a blanket, scattered with roses and framed pictures, setting the stage for a moment that was as beautiful and meaningful as the love it represented.

There was an army of loved ones behind the scenes making sure everything went smoothly. Steve (Stevie’s dad), Rick (Sara’s dad), and Wyatt (Sam's boyfriend) all helped plan the proposal, while Sara, Joni (Stevie’s mom, Jennifer (Sara’s mom), and Sam (Sara’s twin sister) spent the day together shopping and getting their nails done. It was a day filled with laughter, bonding, and plenty of excitement.

After a fun-filled day with the girls, they convinced Sara to take a “detour” around the lake. As they drove, Sara had no idea that Stevie was waiting just ahead, standing near the bench by the water.

There were lots of happy tears from everyone—surrounded by their loved ones, they celebrated the beginning of their forever.

As we plan our wedding and prepare for this next chapter, we couldn’t be more excited for the future we’re building together. We’ve found the perfect apartment to call home, and we can’t wait to settle in and make it our own. While we’re busy creating a life filled with love, laughter, and new memories, we’ve officially added some extra fun to the mix with our new Wiener dog, Lou (Lulu)!

We’re looking forward to the little moments, the big adventures, and everything in between as we continue to grow, laugh, and support each other in everything we do.
