Bob and Sara met on a dating app in February of 2022. After their first date at a coffee shop in Cleveland, they spent as much time together as they could before Bob moved to Columbus, Indiana for his new job as a Production Engineer at Toyota Material Handling. After Bob moved, they alternated visiting each other committing to a monthly 5 hour drive. Sara had also been searching for jobs and decided to accept an offer as a Battery Engineer at EnPower in Indianapolis, Indiana in April. The next few months were filled with adventures as they began to meet friends and family and explored the nature areas within reach of Indianapolis.


Sara and Bob moved into a rental house in Greenwood, Indiana in January of 2023 where they were able to split the distance between Columbus and Indianapolis for work. The next year flew by as they continued to build a life together and travel the country. On their trip to Minnesota, Bob asked Sara's dad for his blessing and Scott said no...just kidding! Then Bob had to convince Sara to join him on his work trip to Fresno, California without giving away his plans to propose in Yosemite.


Despite a stressful last minute change to Bob's work schedule, they arrived in Fresno on a Friday and headed to the mountains. The next morning, Sara was determined to see the sunrise from the Tunnel View overlooking Yosemite Valley, and Bob agreed wholeheartedly as it fit into his own secret agenda. After racing to the top of the mountain at dawn and taking pictures all the way down, Bob asked for one more picture. He found a stranger to take a video and got down on one knee.


He asked her to marry him, and she said yes.
