Just like most couples these days, Mike and Sara met on a popular dating app in 2018, shortly after Mike moved to Arizona. Sara needed to meet the guy who had a photo of himself shopping the grocery store aisles with a large inflatable alligator and Mike just had to swipe right for a girl who had a photo of herself in a burrito-eating competition. They bonded over a love of food, live music, travel, and pets...and pretty soon they retired those dating app profiles!
Mike and Sara moved in together in 2019 and spent that year traveling to see friends (it was the year of weddings!). Then the pandemic hit and they hunkered down. Early in 2021, Mike surprised Sara with a mid-pandemic getaway to San Diego. And he had another surprise up his sleeve...he proposed on the beach at sunset and Sara said "Yes!"
After getting engaged, Mike and Sara were busy buying a home, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Who has time to plan a wedding? So, mid-vacation in Florida, they decided to elope! All it took was a quick call to "Weddings To Go, Key West," a wedding license from the local courthouse, a homemade wedding ring for Mike, and they were saying their "I Do's" on the beach!
