Alannah Swarner - Matron of Honor
A "Noel" Prize Award winning article by Alannah Myers Swarner in the category of Satire(mostly)
What could jealously make you do? For one second grader, it was the catalyst for many harrowing events. New student Alannah Myers, described by her peers as an absolute delight, knows the all too well the wrath of a student scorned.
Fellow student, Sara Pennington, allegedly encouraged another student, Myers, to change schools and “would be glad to see her leave.” Onlookers described the incident as traumatizing. “(Myers) is a true hero in my eyes, to overcome such adversity” say another classmate.
After involvement of both mothers, the classmates agreed to tolerate each other. Their cordial encounters have spanned the length of over 20 years. Myers, a beloved alumni of Holy Family Elementary showed what an inspiration it can be to be the bigger person by standing in Pennington’s wedding despite her maleficence. A story of true bravery and heroism 💕

I first met Don in kindergarten. We were in the same class. My very first memory of him is when he got glasses and our teacher introduced him to a girl with glasses to make him feel better. I can still remember them standing face to face awkwardly. Over the next few years, and many sleepovers and laser tag birthday parties later, we would become best friends, and that continues to this day.
