We highly suggest you choose an overnight flight out of Newark or JFK. Prices are cheaper than Philly and there are less layovers. The country code for Maceio Int’l Airport is MCZ.
- Once you make your flights, please notify us of your expected arrival time. We will schedule shuttle pick-up for all guests.
Uber is also an option.
There are no COVID-related entry requirements for U.S. citizens.
Effective midnight on April 10, 2025, a visa will be required for U.S. citizens to travel to Brazil, regardless of the purpose of travel. For more information about visa requirements, visit the Brazilian government-authorized website, https://brazil.vfsevisa.com
You will need:
- A valid U.S. passport.
- A valid Brazilian visa or e-visa, beginning April 10, 2025 for tourists and currently for all other types of travel.

Maceió Mar Hotel
This beautiful, beachfront hotel is within walking distance of everything! Current room prices are about $58 a day but are expected to increase about 15% in 2025. However, we are in the process of negotiating a group package to lower the cost.
Unfortunately, part of the negotiation process will include a headcount. The hotel must know how many rooms to hold by the first week of December. We are sorry for the short notice, but this is something they are requiring from us as they are already booking for next season.
If you plan to join us in Brazil to share our special time, please let us know by November 30th, if you will be attending, how many adults/children will be in your room, and how many days you will be staying. This will help us with our negotiations to get the best deal possible.
Once negotiations are complete, we will send everyone the registration link. Please do not register at the hotel before we send you the booking information or else you may miss out on our deal.
Getting Around
- Shuttles will be provided for arrivals on July 18
- Shuttles will be provided to and from all wedding events. Specific times for each event will be shared closer to the wedding. Pick-up times will need to be strictly adhered to since some of the events are not local.
- If you miss a scheduled shuttle, Uber is available. We will provide addresses for all events so you don’t miss out on the fun!
Uber is available for all of your individually scheduled sightseeing days. We are currently working to compile a list of local friends who may be interested in being hired sightseeing guides and/or translators. We will update theknot.com with that information if we are successful.
Dress Code
- Welcome Party: Please wear white. Feel free to bring a bathing suit.
- Wedding: Formal.
- Boat Excursion: Summer casual/bathing suit.
