Your invitation to the wedding will get you admission and full access to the Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park!!!
Sara and I enjoy spending time at the Gardens in all times of year, often playing Pokemon GO on our phones, while still enjoying the art and gardens! There are many, many beautiful, thought provoking sculptures and pieces of art throughout the grounds by world famous artists.
We highly recommend taking time to explore! It will be late February, so be prepared for the elements if you choose to enjoy the outdoor portion of the park! Be sure to check out the famous, American Horse, a giant recreation of a work by Leonardo Da Vinci.
It's SO good. No alcohol menu.
Good food in a low key setting. Nick and I like the arroz con pollo.
For those that are craft-beer-inclined, Brewery Vivant has good beer AND good food.
Catch a game with the Grand Rapids Griffins! This AHL team is the minor league affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. Home ice is Van Andel Area in downtown Grand Rapids, great venue with games all winter and spring.
K-BBQ, hot pot, and entrees - I've never waited long for a table here and it's real good.
Visit the Grand Rapids Art Museum. With a collection of over 6,000 objects, this museum would be a great place to spend a chilly afternoon!
The sister-store to the Ann Arbor location: this location takes advantage of its small space with ceiling-high shelves that resemble a library, and board games/puzzles crawling along the perimeter. The Pokemon plush selection at this store is superior.
The original MadCap location is just across the street!
"...where history, science, and culture intertwine to provide an immersive and educational experience."
We actually haven't been yet.
Sara went to 6th grade here! Rescued/rehabilitated wildlife at the nature center and several hiking trails. If you see white buckets on the trees, it's sugaring season!
