Silver Lining is defined as a "metaphor for optimism in vernacular English, which means a negative occurrence may have a positive aspect to it."

On September 7th, 2021 Thomas Bartol passed away.

Thomas Bartol was Daniel's hero; he always had such a curious mind and he always took the time to think of others in everything that he did. Thomas was a model of the kind of person that Daniel wanted to be: curious but kind; he was sometimes spacy but always thoughtful, but without any doubt, he was as sweet as they came.

On September 7th, 2021, Richard Allen passed away. Richard Allen was always a pioneer of honor, love, and curiosity. Whether he was in his garden or in his recliner, he always had a story that ended with "and the moral of the story was..."He was a person who would welcome you no matter where you came from. He would feed you tomatoes and figs out of his garden and sweet tea from his fridge. He was always waiting with hugs filled with love and stories full of wonder. There is never a day that goes by where "Hello! My name is Richard Allen! What's yours?" isn't a pillar that shaped countless lives.

On September 7th, 2021, Danny reached out to his small group of friends and let them know that his grandfather had passed away. In offering comfort, one of his friends came to the decision that they would reach out to their own grandfather and let them know how much they loved them once they had the opportunity to do so that day. The opportunity never came, as that friend was Sara and not two hours after Danny's grandfather had passed, Sara would receive a phone call from her mother that her own grandfather had passed away.

Through the shared devastation of losing two people who meant so much to them, Danny and Sara's friendship blossomed into something more. It is through the life and love that their Grandfathers spread that they both believe that it was Thomas' and Richard's final offering of happiness that the two of them fell in love.

Through the distance of their relationship, their trials and tribulations, and their devotion to being uniquely themselves, Danny and Sara both developed a bond that was unquestionably one of true love.

It is thanks to the lives that Thomas and Richard lived and the love that gave so freely that Danny and Sara are the people that they are today. Please join us in honoring Thomas and Richard, and remembering them for the incredible forces of good that they were.
