Her Story:After being dumped and fired within a 2 month span, Sara was pretty down. Moving back home, she began to contemplate what she was to do next. Sara decided saving up and planning on moving out of New York would be best. A change of scenery and a complete start over looked very appealing. But she knew that would take a little time. Why not have a little fun while waiting. So she joined a dating site with the sole intention of passing time until her big move. The day before her 29th birthday, she received a notification that would change her life completely.His Story: Jon was always a sweet person. He knew what was important in life and wanted to make sure that everyone was having a good time. But something was missing. Jon decided to pursue his first passion, racing. Racing took Jon different places and gave him experiences that he would never forget. But still, he felt that it needed to be shared with someone extra special. He, too, joined the same dating site. It wasn't until after celebrating his brother James' graduation from Police Academy that he updated the area on his profile. That's when he saw her.Our Story: After the initial notifications of interest, the emails started. Then texts. Soon Jon asked Sara if it'd be okay to call her. She agreed and they set a time for their first real communication. Jon grabbed some liquid courage and Sara made sure she was in a cozy spot. The call came in on time. Sara grinned and answered shyly. Giggling she said hello and they began to exchange pleasantries. The conversation flowed easily. Four hours later they realized it was 2 am. Jon had to be to work early the next day and Sara knew it would be a long day ahead. Being that the call went so well, they made plans to call each other the next night. For the next week straight, Jon would call Sara and they'd talk well into the early morning hours. Talking to each other was very easy. They felt that they were talking to a friend that they haven't seen in a while. Communication was so easy they decided that meeting up in person was the next step. Jon invited her to Sparkle, a holiday festival in Corning. There were first date jitters as usual. But after they wore off, the conversation continued to flow. They had so much in common. Favorite music, tv shows, life views. Sara was surprised that there was such an agreeable person out there. She began to consider a relationship with this man. The date ended well. There was a kiss. It felt right. The next day, Jon told Sara of a call center in Corning that she may be interested in applying for since she had experience in a call center while living in Endicott. She put in her application and was hired on the spot. This would end up being her change of scenery. Shortly, she ended up moving to Corning. Jon would spend every minute he could with Sara. Sara enjoyed the feeling of being wanted. Weeks would turn into months and into years. They talked about the future. They made plans with each other without hesitation. Being together was their favorite thing. In July of 2016, Jon and Sara took a vacation to Maine with a couple of friends. It went well and on their way back they made a stop to the New England Aquarium. After enjoying the Aquarium, they sat on a near by bench over looking the harbor. It was a beautiful day. That's when Jon reached into his pocket. Sara, was leaning against Jon, but thought nothing of the movement. He placed a small blue box in front of Sara. Not knowing what to think, she looked at him for a hint of what he was thinking. That's when he asked her to if she'd be his forever. With no qualms, she said yes. And that leads us to now. We're so very excited for every one to share in our special day!!

What can I say.... she's my sister and my best friend. When I'm in the middle of a melt down, she takes my hand and leads me through it like the boss she is. I met Valerie at BCC. We had many courses together and it was very easy to get along with her. Valerie is one of my longest friends and even though we don't see each other often, I still consider her a very valuable member of my life. She is a wonderfully sweet person and I thank her for being with me on this journey!

I honestly cannot imagine my life without Holly. We ended up siting together at work, and quickly became friends with crazy antics and laughing over the DUMBEST customers ever. It was by far the best time I've had at work, ever. She , also, has one of the biggest hearts a person can have and I'm excited to have her beside me during this important moment in my life!

One of the first friends I had made since moving to Corning, she opened her home to me, a complete stranger and became my first roommate. She made me feel very welcome and comfortable being away from anything familiar. Living with her was a dream and we became very good friends. Another one with the biggest hearts and as sweet as they come, I'm thankful with her being one of my biggest fans and supporters.

Seneca lake is in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine country. I know that your first thought about wine isn't Central or Western NY, but it definitely rivals California's wine country! Come enjoy the start of fall with wine and the views of early changing leaves!

Glass? Glass! I know that you don't think much of glass on a daily basis, but CMOG can show you the wonderful things that glass has made possible. They even have events where you can make your own glass objects! Last fall Mom, Jessie and I had a blast making our own glass pumpkins! Some more famous glass items you may not know Corning has had their success with is Corelleware, Pyrex and Gorilla Glass!!
