Sara and Austin's story started as friends at the age of 16. They both grew up in Lake Highlands and had the same circle of friends. Sara’s Maid of Honor, Laura Norman, introduced the couple and played a big part in their relationship for years to come.

There was always something that felt different about their friendship. They exchanged their first kiss in High School but remained friends for years. They stayed in touch throughout college, hanging out during summer breaks.

Fast-Forward to January 2021, the couple reconnected after matching on a dating site and this is when their love story began. Sara was living in Austin, TX, so they navigated long distance for about six months before they both decided that Dallas would be home. They love being close to their friends and family in the city they both grew up in.

Austin proposed on top of Copper Mountain on January 28th, 2022. After a few hiccups, a broken ski lift, a hungry girlfriend, one sneaky fake photo session, Austin proposed in the most amazing way. Sara said YES after asking Austin three times “are you serious?!” and they both skied down the mountain to celebrate with their friends! The couple stayed in Colorado for the following week celebrating their engagement by exploring Breckenridge, visiting friends, and skiing!
