Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Murphy is conveniently nestled just 2 hours from several major cities such as, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Asheville. If southern hospitality and small town charm appeal to you, Murphy is full of great places to shop, eat, hike, or just relax and enjoy what the majestic mountains have to offer.

From open air patios with live music to trivia nights, there is always something going on downtown. There is also an old fashioned drive-in movie theatre nearby, and Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino is within 7 miles of McGuire's Millrace Farm.

There are many great local restaurants. Most use locally grown, farm fresh produce and meats. Check out The Crown Brasstown, Copper Door, and Brasstown Valley Resort! A variety of tastes are available and many restaurants specialize in vegan dishes.

Murphy also has several great breweries, pubs and wineries in the area for you to enjoy! Just to name a few, Parson's Pub, Valley River Brewery, Hoppy Trout, Calaboose Cellars, Snowbird Mountain Brewery, Andrews Brewing Company, Eagle Fork Vineyards, Crane Creek Vineyards, and Nottely River Valley Vineyards.

We also have some great coffee and donut shops, including Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Rare Bird Emporium, and the downtown interest, Crafted Dough!

The John C. Campbell Folk School is located 4.2 miles from our facility. Throughout the year, they offer various activities such as craft shows, dances, concerts, classes, auctions and festivals. Their website is https://folkschool.org/index.php. There are also several art studios, art galleries, craft shops and hand-made jewelry shops with classes available locally. The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds hosts several concerts yearly, featuring famous and local musicians at affordable costs. Also, the first Friday of every month May through November is our famous Murphy Art Walk. Downtown opens up from 5-8pm with live art demonstrations, music, and food.

Murphy has several antique shops, boutiques, jewelry stores, art galleries, thrift shops, flea markets, and gift shops, many of which are located in our historic, beautiful downtown. For general needs, there is a Wal-Mart within a 6.5 mile drive from McGuire's Millrace Farm, and multiple convenience stores throughout the area.

Motorcyclists love traveling on the "The Tail of the Dragon" and Cherohala Skyway. The Tail of the Dragon is an eleven mile road with 318 curves and is America's #1 motorcycle and sports car road. Also, take a day trip on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad or the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad. There are also beautiful scenic drives, great places to picnic, and historic museums to visit.

Within a 10-15 minute drive of the facility you will find various hotels such as The Stonebrook Lodge, Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, Days Inn and Best Western. Many families also enjoy staying in some of the enchanting cabins and bed & breakfasts throughout our area to enjoy peaceful streams and mountain views.
