Sara and Spencer's story began back in 2017, when they first met as coworkers at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina. They became best friends and found comfort in each other's presences. Neither one knew, but they both had a little crush on one another.
They both moved on from those jobs, but Sara and Spencer always kept in touch. They would wish each other a "Happy Birthday" or send a "Congratulations" on school or career achievements. No matter how much time went by, they both still popped in each other’s minds. A “what if” scenario that never seemed to be possible.
That’s when April 16, 2021 happened. Spencer messaged Sara to go out for drinks and to catch up, but they realized through the night that the initial spark they felt in 2017 was still there. Sara and Spencer call this their “first date, that wasn’t a date, but turned into a date”.
Since then, Sara and Spencer have become inseparable and grown an unconditional love for each other. They have built a very strong foundation and now know they are destined for a lifetime of love and happiness.
Spencer proposed to Sara on September 2nd, 2023 in front of 45,000 people at the Padres game. Sara threw out the first pitch and didn’t realize that Spencer posed as the catcher until she turned around and saw him standing there (crazy, right?!). This was the perfect proposal for them because of their love for the Padres, and one of Sara’s dreams since she was a little girl was to throw out the first pitch.
They now live together with their cat, Phoebe, who they both pamper and treat as their child. Spencer works as an Outside Salesman, and Sara works as a Pediatric Nurse.
Sara and Spencer have many goals and aspirations, and they can’t wait to spend the rest of their lives together as a married couple. They are so excited to share this amazing day with you all!
