Sarah and Henry met in college in 2011, where we majored in chemistry and were in nearly every class together. We met through the honors college, but it wasn’t until General Chemistry I lab where Henry really made an impression on Sarah, by dropping our first experiment on the ground. Despite losing a few points on our grade, (and a couple points in her eyes), we became fast friends and found ourselves spending lots of time together. While we spent a lot of time studying and doing homework, we spent just as much time laughing, enjoying PSU football games, and dreaming of the future.


After graduation we went our separate ways. Sarah went back to Wichita to pursue her career, while Henry stayed at Pitt to finish a Master’s degree before moving back to Kansas City. Naturally, it was further schooling that brought us back together again, when Sarah moved to KC to pursue her Master’s. We picked right back up where we left off, spending time together and having fun exploring the city. In October of 2019, we finally gave up the “will they, won’t they” routine and began dating to the surprise of (apparently) only ourselves.


The last several years have been filled with joy as our relationship has grown. We have spent time exploring national parks, traveling the country and finding humor in the day-to-day. Finally, in October of 2023, Henry got down on one knee in Grand Teton National Park. Sarah nearly put the ring on herself, and we have felt incredibly lucky ever since.


We are so excited to start this new chapter in our story and sincerely hope you can join us. We appreciate the roles you have played in getting us here, and hope to celebrate our marriage with you by our sides.
