Looking for things to do on your way home? We are roughly 175 miles west of Mall of America in Minneapolis, or 2 1/2 hours highway driving. Taliesin East is 90 miles southeast and an incredible experience for Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiasts. For those who haven't ventured to Wisconsin Dells (roughly 1 hour or 64 miles east of Lacrosse), think about stopping to explore the shops and boat tours, or have a quick drive through if you don't have time this trip. Better yet, sit back and admire the small towns and abundant fields surrounding us.
The Shrine is set into the bluffs in LaCrosse and includes the main church, numerous reliquary, memorial to the unborn, outdoor stations of the cross, votive candle chapel, paths throughout the property, pilgrimage center, gift shop and restaurant. The church sits at the top of a small bluff and can be accessed by walking or being escorted in a oversize golf cart. It's a beautiful property even for non Catholics.
