Our Story
Act 1: They Meet
Andrew first contacted Sarah on Match.com in 2016. They chatted amicably but she had reservations: he was only 28 and she was 30. Fast forward 6 months later. They matched on Coffee Meets Bagel and it was fate. Andrew's recent achievement, broadcasted boldly, especially resonated with Sarah: he had turned 29. The first date (at a restaurant on Capitol Hill) went great; the second (at Brian Ledbetter's rooftop) was even better, and the rest is history.

Tuk and Zoomer Take a Trip
Like Tuk, a character in the Tiny! Tink! Tonk! tales Andrew's mother read to him as a kid, Sarah and Andrew enjoy a good jaunt - especially the ice cream, beer, and, when possible, noodles. They have visited Europe, Asia, and Central America and are proud to no longer draw Grandma's protestations whenever they leave the country without first marrying.
The proposal
Japan - home of Sarah's forefathers. Andrew was excited yet nervous. Would she like the ring? Would he lose it before he could pop the question? His knuckles white from a combination of butterflies and the fresh sensation of driving on the left, Andrew pulled over at a lookout point on the Okinawa coast. Ushering Sarah out of the car, he offered her water, then a banana, and finally a tin of salad dressing base filled with cotton balls. It contained the ring! He dropped awkwardly to one knee and, forgetting his speech entirely, said the magic words: "Will you marry me?"
