Jarred and I met on Match.com on December 11th, 2021. Shout out to my co-worker and friend Holly Pappas (who met the love of her life on Match) for helping me re-make my Match profile after I deleted it and said it was stupid. I also want to make it abundantly clear that I sent Jarred the first message. Jarred later told me that he never really went on the app much at all but he happened to go onto the app and saw that I messaged him! Jarred and I were supposed to go to Bentleyville prior to Christmas for their first date, but Jarred ended up bailing because his brother Tanner was town. To say I was upset was an understatement. A couple days after Christmas, December 29th, 2021, to be exact, we FINALLY went on our first date. Jarred said he knew I was the one when he was pulling into my driveway. He said all I see was you "trudging" through the snow in your Muk boots to go talk to your landlord. We went to the Power House Bar for some drinks and ended the evening at the OMC Smokehouse. When we got to OMC, my best friend, Dana (bridesmaid) happened to be there. We had no idea that she would be "crashing" my date. She now brags that she was the first one to meet and see Jarred! I remember going home after our date and not wanting him to leave. Yes...he ended up leaving and we ended the evening with a kiss. To tell you I was blown away by Jarred would be an understatement. But for the first time in my life something just felt right and I didn't feel like just another girl. The following weekend came and I met Jarred's family for the first time. It was so fun to see Jarred in his element with his family, but most importantly his nephews and nieces! The following weekend we went to meet my family. Things progressed very quickly after that. You could find me at Jarred's parents house about 3 nights a week, if not more. We became "official" on January 6th, 2022 and shortly after that Jarred told me he loved me (1/23/22). A couple months later Jarred moved in and the rest is history. Jarred and I had multiple conversations about what we both wanted in life. Those things were a family and marriage. We both decided that we wanted a child before marriage so we started trying for a child in April 2022. We were pregnant with our first child a couple months later. Jarred and I were so excited to experience parenthood together. Unfortunately, on January 15, 2023 (at 19 weeks pregnant) we welcomed and lost our son Hoyt Lee Heggedahl. I would never wish losing a child on anyone, but I believe God had a plan for our son and for us as a couple. It brought Jarred and I closer together as a couple and we became closer with our families. A couple months after Hoyt's passing we found out we were pregnant with our daughter Poppy! And FINALLY on July 4th, 2023 Jarred proposed at the Brookston Fireworks in front of our two best friends Jonah (groomsman) and Tiff (bridesmaid).
