Our Wedding

It started how most things start in today’s dating world… with a dating app, a like and a like back. Sarah was the first to speak to Garrett via Facebook Dating, but Garrett initiated contact with a like. While doing laundry at the laundry mat, Garrett responded back. The couple began chatting and eventually exchanged numbers. That was the beginning of many phone calls that lasted late into the night. Garrett asked Sarah out on their first date, to Thistle and Shamrock, which occurred on August 6, 2021. The conversation flowed easily and both felt comfortable and excited for the next dates to come. On the way out the door, Garrett tried to go in for a goodnight kiss and instead accidentally shutting the door on a patron into the restaurant. He did eventually recover from that misstep to have his first kiss later in the date. The two continued to see each other some weekends and evenings. Their relationship growing with their love of fitness, good food, great friends, and exploring new things together. October of 2021 after a cancelled flight from MD to WI, Garrett met Caitlin (Sarah’s now 4 yr old). He rescued them from the airport in Chicago and brought them safely home. Since then the three have been inseparable (well 6 if you count their furbabies)

Parking Coordinated by the Bride and Groom: MacArthur Square parking structure which is adjacent to the Museum and is accessible via James Lovell Street. The parking structure includes an entrance to the Museum on the Ground level, eliminating the need to walk outside.&nbsp; Address:841 N James Lovell StMilwaukee, WI 53233, Bride and Groom have reserved discounted parking for 40 cars to make getting to and from the venue easier during Harley Anniversary. There are 40 guaranteed spots for our guests. Anything above that would be at first some first serve and would be at whatever rate the structure typically charges.

Additional Parking Options: There are metered spaces available on most downtown streets. Meters are free on Sundays. Please note we have been notified Harley Anniversary weekend is also being celebrated 7/13-7/16/2023. This means hotel accommodations will become more and more limited as the date moves closer. If you want to be walking distance to the venue for the night we recommend you book sooner than later so we can extend the hotel blocks early while rooms are available. You can seek accommodations outside of downtown Milwaukee, but you should expect to have at least a 15-20 min drive to return to your hotel at night. I recommend you Uber or Lyft as the police force will be out in droves due to Harley anniversary weekend. We love you all and want you to be safe. We have no desire to add to our memorial tables at future weddings and family gatherings. We have done our best to give a range of pricing and location options. We have noted distance each hotel is from the Milwaukee Public Museum (Wedding Venue). Also, Bride and Groom are covering the cost of parking for 40 cars at the venue itself to make parking easier. Hotel Options

The Bride and Groom will be participating in The Money Dance:For those not familiar with this tradition it is popular in many cultures including Spanish culture. Guests shower the bride and groom with money for dances and offer advice moving into their married life. Typically, male guests dance with the Bride and female guests dance with the Groom. However, we welcome you to dance with whomever you have advice to impart to.

Memorial Table:  The Bride and Groom will have a memorial table dedicated to Lynn Zandi (Mother of the Groom) and Matthew Benitez (Brother of the Bride). There will be pictures to honor both in addition to a corsage and boutonnière.   Please stop by to pay respects and we encourage you to share stories of these loved ones with all the guests and the Bride and Groom. Both are heart broken that the Bride will never meet Lynn and the Groom will never meet Matthew.    Please help us celebrate their lives and spread their love and memory throughout the celebration.

Mother-Son Dance:  To honor Lynn Zandi, the Mother-Son dance will take place with Danielle Maple (Zandi).

Last Song of the Night:  To honor Matthew Benitez, the final song of the night will be Wyclef Jean “Gone ‘Til November”
